Slides 10 Posted August 7, 2010 Talk about stutter city. Did not happen in ArmA2. Just installed from Steam. It's stuttering about every few second and I'm getting random sound effects not even from the current mission, like tutorial narrations in mid sentences while playing the US weapons scenario for example. Win7 64, 4GB Ram, Core i7 860, ATI 5850, latest Cat drivers. What settings can I change to fix this? There seems to be an option to adjust audio samples, so far that didn't seem to make an impact. ---------- Post added at 03:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:58 PM ---------- I'm using Low for post processing as I did with ArmA2. Every other seting is same - high or very high.
Defunkt 431 Posted August 7, 2010 Post-processing levels aren't directly comparable between A2 and OA, after lowering mine my performance returned much closer to what I was getting with A2. Also look at the beta patches, they haven't been touted as a tonic for framerate but something has really lifted mine after a similar experience to the one you're describing initially. djdeluxe76 10 Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) I'm getting random sound effects not even from the current mission, like tutorial narrations in mid sentences while playing the US weapons scenario for example. this could be becaue the steam client started playing ArmA 2 OA videos in the back on ArmA 2 OA's Steam Client product page. Had that happen to me too and it confused the heck out of me. If you alt tab to windows desktop and minimize the steam client window or stop the video from the steam client pause button it should go away.
