Does Steam DCMA give you full content?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have been playing Arma2 (non-steam) for a while and am very interested in getting Combined Operations or Operation arrowhead, so I have been playing the demo, which I downloaded from Steam.

The steam version of Operation Arrowhead demo does not have the same content and options as the download version from any other www.arma2.com direct download.

This specifically applys to the editor, there are different unit options, supply options, object options that steam version does not have. Plus steam version is missing the required components to allow export to multiplayer to make custom multiplayer missions.

Does the Steam version of Combined Operations or Operation Arrowhead have full content and options?

Yes, the Steam full versions of the games are complete. Not sure why the Demo wouldn't be though.

Are you talking about the demo?

The demo is obviously limited for the fact that its a demo.

I have both stand alone Arma 2 and OA for Steam and they work in Combined Arms (You get a selection box to run A2, OA or both CO when you start) and they have all the content they should have.

Only thing I have noticed is that if I want mods to run with OA or CO you seemingly need to have the mod folders in the OA install directory, not A2.

I also recommend getting ArmA II Game Launcher (free mod).

You can host editor-made scenarios in the demo, just copy the folder of xyz scenario from the missions folder to MPmissions folder (both are located in the OA demo other profiles folder).
