Herr anfsim 0 Posted July 28, 2010 Hi. Have been looking around for answers to this case but havent found anything yet. I have innstalled ARMA2:OA and patched it to the most recent patch, but everytime I start the game it crashes right after the menu appears. Regular ARMA2 works fine. Any suggestions? Specs: Athlon 64 3500 3 gb ram GTS250 Thanks
no use for a name 0 Posted July 29, 2010 (edited) I don't think your CPU is a dual core, which is a minimum requirement for the game Edited July 29, 2010 by No Use For A Name
Soldat20 0 Posted August 13, 2010 I have the same problem just the opposite it way, I re-formatted my pc and re-installed both arma2 and arma2:oa. ArmA2 crashes at the menu and ArmA2:OA starts up just fine, then I notice if I run ArmA2 with ACE it runs fine but with no sound!
Decerto 10 Posted August 24, 2010 I have the exact same problem as TC. The game runs fine until the menu then it crashes everytime. I've searched the forums and tried the beta patch and everything else but nothing seems to work. Arma 2 works perfectly but AO doesn't. I totally uninstalled both and only installed this and it still did the same thing. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with an i5 750 and an ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 4GB RAM This is the error: Level Date and Time Source Event ID Task Category Error 24/08/2010 8:49:56 PM Application Error 1000 (100) "Faulting application name: arma2OA.exe, version: 1.52.71.816, time stamp: 0x4c29f442 Faulting module name: arma2OA.exe, version: 1.52.71.816, time stamp: 0x4c29f442 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00101c2c Faulting process id: 0x8cc Faulting application start time: 0x01cb4379f7f781e3 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead\arma2OA.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead\arma2OA.exe Report Id: 552131de-af6d-11df-b4ad-6cf049562eb9"
Decerto 10 Posted August 25, 2010 I re-installed Arma 2 and played it fine then I installed the expansion and it crashes again with the same error. Does anyone know why it does this?
Decerto 10 Posted August 25, 2010 FIXED IT!!!!! It was my USB headset! Took it out and it plays fine. I found the answer on the Steam forums. ---------- Post added at 09:01 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:46 AM ---------- Here is the Steam thread explaining the problem: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1363943 They said it was fixed in the Beta patch but it wasn't as I tried the Beta patch and it still did it. I don't know why I couldn't find the answer on this forum especially since the developers knew about the problem and it was a simple solution.
