frederf 0 Posted June 10, 2009 I'd like to suggest a command feature set for organizing and managing unit groups on the fly during missions. Too often a mission is unnecessarily difficult because the command and organization of AI groups is unchangeable by the human leader mid-mission. Example Tasks Assigning an owned unit to a selected other group Receiving a unit from other group into own group Reassigning F1-F12... slots within own group Creating a new group from own units Why This Is Needed Better Communication (tied to VON and text) Tactical opportunities are improved Increases Likelihood of Group Structure Used By Human Players Why This Needs To Be Built-In Mission Makers Won't Provide It Consistent Interface (vs 3rd party) Mission Maker Allowed to Focus on Mission Content With Warfare / Domination / CTI style missions being so very popular, it is inevitable that many players will join missions without robust group structure. Only few mission makers provide group management interfaces.
Moose-Factory 10 Posted August 17, 2009 (edited) totally agree. I'm on badlands now and can't transfer any of my newly acquired units from my squad to my depleted squads in the command menu : / The "communication --> Send units" tab is there in the menu, but in the campaign no options apear when this is selected. was this feature implemented for the campaign? frederf 0 Posted August 17, 2009 It is, but not for Badlands. Don't ask me why but I hear that missions beyond Badlands work fine in this regard. The latest patch has added, changed, and fixed a fair number of things about that mission and AI control overall. I'm having much better luck so far.
