Battleye refuses to start

Recommended Posts

Battleye refuses to start when I play ArmA II OA. The game is fine however, as It runs normally when using the "run without battleye" option. I Have seen people on other forums (CCG) having the same issues aswell.

Here is a list of things I have tried/noticed:

Friends with windows 7/8 seem to be ok.

Get this popup when trying to start:failed%20to%20launch.png

Reinstalled Battleye and ArmA II/OA.

Manually installed Battleye.

Allowed battleye full administrator privileges.

Allowed battleye full firewall privileges.

Ran OA after starting steam with administrator privileges.

I even started BEservice manually through services. When I try to start OA, i get the same window, and noticed that BEservice is now stopped.

Slammed my fists on my desk like a 12 year old playing WoW.

System Specs:

Core i5 4670k

MSI GD65 Z87

MSI R9 270X

Window 8.1

I would like to apologize to you and the whole battleye team. I was just very upset as a spent the good part of an hour trying to figure out this issue. Good news is I solved the issue, and it's a simple fix. I set ArmA2OA_BE.exe to run with administrator privileges. Have had no issues with the game starting since.

Again really sorry. I wrote that post in troubleshooting anger, and I was foolish.

Edit: I would also like to say I haven't seen a hacker since you guys starting cracking down months and months ago, so ya, you guys are actually doing a good job. I personally did a great job making myself look like an ass.

No problem.

I have now identified the cause of this issue (it happens when the ArmA2OA.exe is set to run as administrator but ArmA2OA_BE.exe is running as a normal user), so it will be fixed shortly.
