We really need a dedicated russian conspiracy theory parody thread, this is too funny! According to this, dutch special force elite KCT GSG9 Speznas SWAT Water seal penguin mercenaries are fighting in Ukraine.

Yeah, the ukrainian military does an excercise in the center of the rebel territory. Makes sense. That was the most retarded thing I have heard in a while. Russians really have to get more creative with their conspiracy theories and work on their english. I'll do a conspiracy theory just for fun, you can skip it if you want. The jewish Yatzenjuk stepped down (Interfax said he is a jew), because he knows that his hired blackwater mercenaries (Yes, I know its called Academi) shot down MH-17 flying an SU-34. While all news reported it was an SU-25 that shot down MH-17, it can't be, because the SU-25 has a service ceiling of 7.000m, therefore I concluded it must have been an SU-34, which has a service ceiling of 15.000m. The ukrainian nazi fashists are so nazi, fashist and jewish, that they shot the plane down, so they can blame Russia. It won't achive anything, but they are so unprofessional that they don't know that. It will only take a little bit more time, until Putin finally sees how evil the Ukrainian fashist nazi jews are and he will introduce peace keeping forces, like he did in Georgia and Chechnya. Only when the peace keepers can kill all of the 45 million nazis, the poor opressed russians can live in peace. Oh and it was all a false flag operation by the USA, totally forgot that.

There are numerous reports of arty being fired into Ukraine, but sadly the US can't even prove the sun is bright.
-
A russian UAV has been shot down by Ukrainian border guards in the Kharkiv region.

That is really not funny and disrespectful to everyone who died (Not metioning that its really unprofessionaly done, the phone/radio doesn't sound remotly like a real one :)).

It was a joke...

Dutch people want to ban putin's daughter.

I also wonder how you can distinguish the uniform. While both the army and the separatists dress however they wan't, there is actually more variaty in how the army dresses, since almost every unit wears a different bulletproof vest or plate carrier, if at all, depending on what they could find. While the separatists often use this camo, its still pretty much as random as it can get. If you really want to identify a separatist, you have to look for big russian flags or st george ribbons (However its pretty hard to spot ribbons from space). If you want to identify the army you have to look for ukrainian flag stickers everywhere. Btw, someone has to make a mod of this uniform for ArmA 3, it looks kinda cool. ArmA 3 doesn't have the right helmets and camos to make something similiar to this...

That's what I'm afraid of. Ukrainian position being shot at from the russian side of the border http://youtu.be/2_JELLJsYnQ According to this and earlier videos, the separatists now have at least one 9K35 Strela-10 surface to air missile system (1m 10s). http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/95/9A34_Strela-10_-_4th_Separate_Tank_Brigade_%288%29.jpg/1920px-9A34_Strela-10_-_4th_Separate_Tank_Brigade_%288%29.jpg (376 kB)

That is actually pretty big, because before there was no clear evidence. I wonder how civilized countries will react. Also the poor guy who posted the pics will probably disappear very soon.

"SBU captured a mortar gunner, who was shooting at residential quarters" http://youtu.be/aPEKojTsRyI He talks about how he was recruited to the LNR, how he was trained to shoot a 122mm mortar for two weeks and that he had 3 missions. He says he was told that they were shooting at armor in the city. He also talks about who recruited him and who the commanders are, but that is probably more interesting to the SBU.

I never said the US is perfect, but this thread is not about the US (There is another thread for that). Also, all those links you posted are from the US, some of them from "mainstream" media. Doesn't that already tell you something about freedom of press? You can't do that in Russia. Also there are people who stand up for themselves, for their rights, for their freedom and for a working democracy. You can't do that in Russia. Demonstration is against the law, unless its organised by the state. Same laws in China and North Korea. Also the russian state runs a huge internet censorship campaign (Which backfired once and blocked government sites, because hackers linked to them on an anti-government site), controls all the media and has a very militarized society. These are just a few things, but you get the idea. The US is not perfect, but nothing compared to russia, which poses a real threat to modern countries. (Also I'm not from the US. You don't have to be from the US to hate the russian government. Actually the countries around russia hate it much more, not because some evil anti russian conspiracy, but because of the crap russia does.) Edit: Also I love how Borodai in the Vice video pretty much goes "The investigators are upset that we mess around with the crash site and don't let them access it, but we are waiting for them to access it for a few days now and it must be some evil conspiracy by Kiev, because... Yeah..."
-
That is actually quite possible, a lot of the people who were in Crimea are now working in eastern Ukraine.
-
Russia doesn't really have to present anything, because if the US really does have something and the investigations show that russia is somehow involved, pretty much nothing will happen. Maybe some more sanctions but that is it. No matter what the US says and no matter how stupid russia's defence is, the russian people are still as brainwashed as before. The people will just stay determined, that the US is lying and all of this is a conspiracy. They will pick out parts of the mess the russian news spit out and everyone will put together his own conspiracy theory. The biggest fear is not that we won't be able to prove who shot the plane down, but the problem is that even if we do, nothing may change and the western powers will continue sitting on their asses all day, going "Oh no Putin, thats bad! Please don't do that!"

Well, you can always use the "enableEngineArtillery" command in order to disable artillery computers and then work with range tables. Hur hur self advertising Sadly the self-propelled artillery behaves really weird and someone has to find a proper equation for that.

That's actually nothing that uncommon or special.

Air to Air missiles, and why they need to change
beastcat replied to the_demongod's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I (and probably everybody else) really appreciate your work! Its really interesting to read and even if it will never be implemented, its still informative and maybe a great resource for modders! -
Most likely to cut out parts where shrapnel has hit... That or someone made himself a crude souvenir.

If I understand the firaxis article correctly, developers have to pay a fee.
-
Those links are actually really interesting and useful. Sometimes I wish there was a 1+ feature... The amount of work and the thought process is actually really fascinating!
-
I just read this article by Firaxis Games, about why they went with Mantle and I couldn't stop thinking how much it would benefit ArmA. Since CPU utilization remains ArmA's biggest bottleneck, an implementation would offer playable framerates when something is actually happening.

Another funny thing is, in the russians desperate attempts, they may have found something, that can help prove that the Buk came from Russia. They have presented a picture, of what is supposedly a Ukrainian Buk. That however had a number on the side, which supposedly was the same for most Ukrainian Buks spotted. Now, the separatist Buk didn't have any numbers at all. In Spooky terms: Coincidence? I THINK NOT!!!! CONSPIRACY CONSPIRACY CONSPIRACY CONPIRACY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RUSSIAN BLACKWATER MERCENARIES EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!! "Russia went to war on well-known scenario" (Somewhat dodgy) English subtitles are available http://youtu.be/CsNlc0iKK7Y

Also Spookys theory that the video published by Ukraine was made in another town is false. On the video you can see trolleybus powerlines, however, in the town that the russian news suggested, there is no trolleybus traffic, in the town suggested by Ukraine there is. Also the billboard theory doesn't hold water anyway.
