East vs West (OFP inspired mod)
beastcat replied to sudden's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I have been editing the handling for the EvW vehicles (Great job, btw) in order to make them correspond to the real one and it seems the wobbling issue had to do something with the antiRollbar (Its generally a nice idea to turn it off in order to avoid a lot of issues), where it would always push the vehicle to one side in order to compensate for a slight roll and then it would push it back again from the other side. When one would accelerate the time it would overcompensate a lot giving a strange effect. If you want to take a look at the redone handling, let me know. So far the UAZ 469, the BRDM-2 and the BTR-60 have gotten realistic handling. -
Seriously, who doesn't immidietly see that thats a fake? The person who made it didn't even try, the lighting is comepletely different. Yeah, that theory has been disprooven already. The guys who were investigating the wreckage already stated, that it was a Buk missile or something similiar. What do you expect them to find out? That the pilots went "Oh, we can see how a missile has been fired 10km below us. It is now moving towards us. Yes, looks definitely like a 9M38 missile. Yes, it is now behind us. Aaand it has exploded, we are now dying." The black box is currently in Britain and is being analysed, because they had problems in the Netherlands for some reason. ---------- Post added at 20:01 ---------- Previous post was at 19:58 ---------- Spot the difference. Yes, I know its hard, but if you try hard enough you will see it.

Aww... Thats sad... Anyway, awesome port, can't wait for the AFM. :D

Also a thing I noticed is that the rockets are waaay too accurate. Even at a distance of 10km they all land on target.

So far the performance seems to be better than with A3MP for some reason (Placebo maybe?) and some issues seem to be fixed (You can finally shoot through fences! Yay!), but I'm getting some errors and crashes on Sahrani during heavy combat and for some reason the groups in the editor have been carried over. -
Im just wondering, where exactly did it say that the convoy was under control of the actual russian army? All I can find that they said that they destroyed part of the convoy that crossed the border from Russia the night before. And separatists fighting under the russian flag is nothing new. Its actually much more common to see them with the russian flag over their tanks than with the Novorossiya, DPR or LPR flag. Some fresh new imported separatists arrived http://youtu.be/2o9qYGKOwRA There are so many, Im too lazy to count. Btw, if you see that almost all trucks are KAMAZ trucks, they came from Russia. Ukraine mostly uses Ural and KrAZ trucks. Sorry...
-
The whole situation is just very strange. Source Separatists talking about how they hit a civilian village again, possibly by mistake The dude says that russian media has already blamed it on Ukraine. He also advises to drink the problems away and not think about it.
-
Wouldn't be the first time.
-
Any plans on fitting the helicopters with the advanced flight model later on?
-
Well, the thing is, Lavrov confirmed that some convoy has been destroyed. Of course we still don't have any pictures and I thought that it was just an empty claim, but Lavrov made this situation very strange.
-
ITAR TASS - Lavrov: The statement that Kiev destroyed vehicles belonging to the RF does not correspond to reality. Very strange...

Can someone check out whats up with this video? I think its in polish, but its not playing for me. Maybe a regional restriction? Just found it on YouTube Can someone do a basic translation?
-
Wait, does this mean he has to destroy himself? A half naked guy started firing an AK-74U in Kharkiv today shouting that Russia is coming and is going to punish everybody. Very weird.
-
The first time I read about the troll army was actually on Buzzfeed. I don't know if this has been posted before, but in case you didn't read it, here you go: Buzzfeed - Documents Show How Russia’s Troll Army Hit America Its quite a long read, so grab some popcorn.
-
Personally I would go with the AK-74, simply because its more familiar, but I can see why people would prefer the M4. I can imagine that the M4 could be objectivly better, but the guns are so similiar, it wont make that much difference.

I actually remember my grandfather telling me about how villages in the west have been constantly changing hands. All of this is truly horrible and makes me detest right sector even more for supporting Bandera (Thankfully they only got 0,7%, thats less than half of what the NPD in Germany got, so thats something, right?). As for the articles, sadly I can't speak polish yet (I plan on learning it someday, because Poland is awesome) and google translator isn't doing a great job, but the pictures already gave too much of an insight, so I wont be sleeping tonight. Yeah, this is very strange. Russia does indeed seem to aim at Germany a lot for some reason. The most apparent indicator would be its massive troll army working at full force. In the comments of welt.de for example I noticed that certain people only post on articles about russia, getting about 10x more upvotes as its usual for the most popular comments and spreading really radical pro-russian information, defending every single step of Putin (A bit like some Russians, but even more radical). And when you look at other articles the most popular opinions are totally opposite to the russian ones. And that goes for pretty much every other site. The german intelligence service actually issued a warning about FSB agents trying to buy off important people some time ago I believe. But when I talked to actual people they always seemed to be very pro-Ukraine (A little bit less pro-integrating Ukraine into the EU). Well and of course most Russians think Ukrainians are mass murderes, but thats probably the case everywhere.

Goodbye A3MP, it was nice knowing you. -
Well, in Germany they always teach how horrible nazi germany was, but yeah, I couldn't agree more. Interesting how the only place where people support Novorossiya is Russia and not Ukraine Whats interesting to note is that the guy who speaks in the beginning about his experience in Ukraine has probably the most heavy Chechen accent I have ever heard. Some translations of the signs White sign 1 - "I trust Putin" White sign 2 - "I recognize Novorossiya" Novorossiya Flag - "Russia, recognize we are unified" Picture with a little green man and child - "Standing for Donbass" Putin face - "Motherland! Freedom!" Hipster dude sign - "Putin and Strelkov, leaders of liberation" Nvm, just discovered a translation in the description, but I find mine a bit less google translator-esque.
-
Well, that sounds horrible. I have always seen Poland and Ukraine as very friendly to each other, so I guess it wasn't always like this. Now I actually feel kind of uncomfortable not knowing that, but I hope these crimes stay in the past. I guess that explains why it is taken as an insult.
-
What did he do for everyone to hate him so much? I honestly don't know. Most Ukrainians I know actually couldn't really tell me who he is. Russians always call Ukrainians "Banderas" as in followers of Bandera, but I have never seen a "Bandera", nor do I really know what bad things Bandera did. When you call a Ukrainian a "Bandera" its actually taken as an insult, so it seems that nobody really likes him. All I know about him as that he was in a nazi concentration camp and was killed by the KGB later.

The subtitles are correct, exept that they left out most of the swearing. It does indeed seem really high, but the 10.000 number came from the guy filming and they did not really confirm that. 10.000 would be almost a third of all the soldiers, so I very highly doubt that. As for the russian convoy destroyed in Ukraine, there are still no pictures. I wonder what kind of proof would be enough, because even if photos of the partially destroyed convoy appear russia can say its not theirs or that those vehicles are stolen again anyway, just like with every other destroyed vehicle (I actually havent seen that many pictures of destroyed vehicles, so yeah). Anyway, heres a video of separatist tanks going into Donetsk (The one in Ukraine) http://youtu.be/v5Jt_lVLb-4 And the Red Cross inspecting the almost empty trucks And some new trucks heading to the separatist controlled border NSDC of Ukraine twitter - Humanitarian aid is still in Donetsk, Rostov region. Ukrainian customs still did not get any documents

I wish fire would slowly bleed off the fuel value, with the fire getting smaller the less fuel there is with some smoke still coming from the wreck after the fire burnt out for a while. And a big fire in the beginning with some small explosions for the ammo.

The Telegraph translation is pretty accurate. If you don't trust me, heres an article in russian you can google translate about the same thing: Obkom - «Премьер ДÐР» заÑвил открытым текÑтом: 1 200 боевиков проходили обучение на территории РоÑÑии в течение 4-Ñ… меÑÑцев Tanks with running engines near the border
