  1. Do you guys have any plans for a third faction, like some milita or indepndent guys or somthing?

    I wonder if you guys could possibly make like "generic" texture versions for some stuff, like some generic brown version of a russian vest or some just like unmarked uniforms and stuff, especially for Russian stuff, stuff like a gorka or somthing could be used by civs too (like some blue addias texture or somthing) :)

    Even if you guys didn't make any generic versions of stuff, it would be cool for maybe later on, someone make a config only thing as part of the mod that adds some independent guys just equipped with some of the mod stuff, like russian aks and such but not belonging to any particular faction (Makes stuff like MCC easier, this way you can spawn enemies that use the same guns/ammo so its not a weird logistic thing such as using caf_agressors).

    Obviously a lot of people would want ukraine/crimea/russian rebel/seperatist guys but maybe some of this could be some heavy work so a config only thing with exsisting gear might make more sense earlier on.

    Honestly you guys probably have a hidden treasure trove of stuff we don't know about :)

  2. Fyi: It wasnt a real 3d interior, as I stated a while back, I guess no one really saw it.

    They did a fake 3d interior, looked nice but no it wasn't 3d

    Just a nicley done 2d one with the full 3 view ports spread out, and fake 2d gui screens for the weapon sight/thermals (really nice looking)

    But tldr they didnt do a real 3d one

As you said, you are going to keep mp in mind for compatibility, if I am to host a lan/internet game from the actual arma 3 game itself (serverbrowser "start new game" option), would this mod still allow the AI to learn (ie:will it save data files to a proper directory somehow, even if I am not running a dedicated server or somthing)

    Also, would it be possible to have like "Ai configurations" we could share? Like downloads for files of the ai learned info?

    Also, is it currently/do you plan/would you consider making some possibility for not only side but faction specific AI learning? This would also probably tie in with my previous idea, lets say some guy achieved some certain result and you say "oh I want my CSAT troops only to do that". etc etc

    Sounds like it would be cool, I don't know how that would work out though.

    Used you old addon in arma 2, it was great improving AI engagement ranges.

    I am curious if this is compatible with somthing like ASR AI 3 (Which I currently use) or if I used this, I don't need that and should probably just ditch it for this?


  4. Easy turn off functions for scripting would be cool, but I do think in some scenarios you can be downed and still call for help (ie:Squriming around animation or somthing)

    Obviously if your unconcious that is a different story.

    I can see it being a good idea if ACRE did disable some stuff but should really be an option. A module would be a good idea, or a optional server-side pbo that does it. <--(Good idea right?:D)

    (Or both)

    Vehicle based radios is an amazing idea, should try to make compatible with scripting though, even if that means we have to manually define the point in xyz coords the sound emits from and maybe even the range and some other cool shit, then choose which GUI (Radio) it uses. (hopefully this makes sense)

    That would be legit.

  6. I really do think MEDEVACs are possible with scripts, if the dev of this mod could verify this it would help.

    Pretty sure it can be scripted pretty easily by someone with the right knowledge of the mods commands (variables or whatever cant find the right word)

    Still, seems like somthing that could be scripted to just work with the mod, really doesn't seem like somthing you can properly implement with a mod, except with modules.

    Also, I didn't think arma runs on only one core, obviously its not optimized but, one core?

    Didn't realize you can OC a single core, not even sure how to do that.

    My BIOS dont seem to reference individual cores at all.

    Also, "raw clock speed"

    My CPU has a pretty crappy clock speed, but are you implying that it isnt my bottleneck? I really seemed to think it was, but I guess a good bit of my arma is "fps lag" ie: graphics rendering as opposed to like ram making choppyness or HDD loading slowly or somthing

    Edit: Realized what you meant about some of the gpu stuff, if this doesnt make sense

    Is that the 3dperformance option in the config? (remember it helped in arma 2 but I forget if its the same thing or what)

    Recently before today , I had dropped my gfx settings down like so:

    Terrain quality: High--> Standard

    Shadow Quality: High--> Standard

    Disabled bloom ( No effect I really think)

    Tried swtiching the low SBAO (I Think sorry might be forggeting that name)

    Some type of SSAO ^ ?


  8. What balaclava? There are none in the default game, unless you are speaking about that on the ghillie suit, that is the part where your players face is supposed to be?

    No one is going to send you a file to fix it, that makes no sense, update your game on steam to the newest stable build and make sure to verify integrity of game cache on steam.

    What your suggesting sounds shady, but it may be because you are not a native english speaker.


  9. So, you are implementing a thales radio?

    Not entirely sure what that link should mean, I assume you mean you are implementing this radio to a realistic standard.

    Does this mean the a3 version of ACRE (ACRE 2 or whatever we are calling it) is going to be more complex then the last one?

    If so, are we still going to be able to use radios on the complexity level of the arma 2 addon, if you add some more complex ones in this?

    Do you plan on adding the ones from arma 2 more or less fully, or is that not what you have planned?


  10. Yeah, I was pretty much saying, a medevac script could (I believe) be made to work with AGM, but yeah this should not be implemented in AGM,it isnt somthing for mods, as I believe this is possible with scripts right?

    Spefically those that get/return agm medic system values to determine when this or that should happen etc


  11. Hey everyone.

    I get like ok performance on ArmA 3, but its getting to the point where I just want better frames already and I am hoping to get new computer parts but don't have the money.

    Specs:

    AMD Phenom II x6 ~2.9 ghz

    Gtx 560 ti 2gb edition (normal load clock around 850 or so)

    8gb of some ram that is good enough

    And a regular hard drive, no SSD or somthing

    Using Fred41's Tbb_malloc.dll memory allocator.

    Adjusted my maxframes from 1 to 10,000 as suggested in some forum for shit cpus, somthing felt off and somthing was odd so I changed it back, but it did have a few more fps performance , around 5+ more fps.

    I have tried overclocking my cpu to 4 ghz with some guide once, didn't work

    I am thinking that OCing my cpu would siginificantly help performance, but I don't know, most people here have these beast cpus and their gpu isnt working enough

    my gpu works like hell on this game, sometimes 99% like crysis, so I assume gpu utilization is not a issue

I am not against modders being able to protect their content, but most of the time, this stolen content gets uploaded to some sh*tty russian arma 1 style download site, where its some 2 year old outdated version and such, and because bi forums/armaholic forums stop people from stealing stuff and posting it here, most "stolen" content doesn't seem to become much of a problem, not as far as I have seen from years of arma.

    Last time I saw it, it had a weird kind of crappy looking texture that might have thrown me off a bit in terms of looking at it properly.


  14. This guy already made like 2 or three posts of this stuff,

    he wanted to include like 40 factions. It was some totally ridiclous idea.

    Honestly Blackviper, make a smaller mod first.

    Make one faction, one vehicle, some textures whatever.

    But this is not going to happen, not unless you actually get some experience modding first, I have seen your other threads its mostly the same concept.

    Take my advice and start small, I think this will end up being a waste of your time,

    you are not explicitly known as a trusted memeber of the community or an experienced modder, this makes it very unlikley people are going to give you their content, this is why you need to

    establish a reputation first, make some mods that people would enjoy before jumping into this big project (again) with only 1 person as far as it seems.

    You will have much better luck on a smaller scale, I think that from seeing you make posts that at least indicate you read many mod threads, you should understand that by now.

    Car i take Textures from BIS Models ?

    I think you mean, can you use BIS textures, I think you can apply them to your model through scripts in game, i assume you can probably also use somthing in the config to point to the texture directory as some type of external reference, and it would just use the BIS texture then, but idk if you can take and stich togheter textures to make somthing, not sure if using BIS textures would really work or what but, you can probably try to contact them.

    I am not a real modeller/texture, especially for arma, but if you need some other help you can try to see and ask me.

The MEDEVAC idea sounds like somthing for scripts in a mission, thought it would be a cool in one of these "ace-esque addons", it could probably (Hopefully) implemented with some scripts that interface with the AGM medic system, pretty sure its possible since in the AGM medic test videos he put some certain variables to X value to produce effects in the console, this should mean you can say somthing like using the same system AGM checks for damage, if this damage is below the value of X then make them only revivable with scripts, implemented revive along with the script into it or whatever.

    Seems possible but idk if the documentation on the agm commands/other shit is made or available etc

    I am going to look for the picture, I will edit this post when I find it and tell you more specifically. I would like if you could also post a new pic of just the vanilla Ak-74 in case you made any changes. Prefferably a straight profile pic from the side, not like slanted/angled like the one below, also a nice large zoomed in one with a good res would be nice, since your other ones are pretty small its hard to tell some stuff.

    Idk if its the angle, but the gun looks a little short and for some reason feels stubbyish

    Its an airsoft one but the proportions look right

    I think the handguard ( the whole thing the top part of it too) is kind of shifted upwards too much, and for some reason it feels like its maybe a bit short or somthing?

    Look up images of the ak74 and look at the proportions, that is the part that I think looks off moreso.

    I hope this helps, if you want more detailed info or somthing just ask, I tried to find a diagram of the ak74 fully marked up with lengths of everything but couldn't find one.

    I think that the overall proportions of the ak PMC one looked more, natural. I think that is a AKM of some type but just saying if that helps you get a mental picture.

    A bit of that part where the sight is kind of goes over the top of the handguard top part thingy (lol idk the proper terms)

    Also, kind of just look at the gas tubes and stuff near the muzzle, they seem to be a little longer then yours I think, you can probably judge that better doing a side by side with the model or somthing.

    Looks like real one is a bit longer

    I think it has a bit more "blank metal space" near the back too, near the buttstock, yours on the back kind of looks a little smushed, I cant really tell from those small image sizes.

    -Sub edit:

    I think the bipod on the rpk 74 looks a bit too long too, imagine if you stretched it (folded) it out, it would be pretty damn tall, probably should be shorter.

    So far the vast majority of problems are with the ak74/rpk74 series proportions, I think you ported or just modded off another model (prob the a2 vanilla) to get the AKMs, I could be wrong, but they look more proper.

    ( I just realized you do have some bit of metal going into the top where the sight is on the handguard, the texture is a bit shiny there, that part you have sticking up is a little high I think, also look on the pic of the Russian soldier, it appears to be slanted into the handguard, as opposed to totally rectangular)

  18. Sorry to be a noob, but what is the intended use of this item?

    Is it supposed to be used to locate where you are if you are say, playing on veteran (or expert or whatever the a3 version is) diffuclty where it does not show the player on the map?

    If you equip this in one of those modes, does it show you on the map? Or is this supposed to be used like the dagr in ace to call in arty?
