3rd Reconnaissance Battalion - ARMA 3 Realism Unit

Mission Statement/Unit Procedures Website: http://3rdreconnaissancebattalion.enjin.com The 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion is a realism unit for ARMA 3. In the 3rd Recon, we utilize a structure similar to that of the United States Marine Corps, only editing things that we deem unnecessary for our use in game. The 3rd Recon is a unit that resembles an actual recon battalion, in order to allow our members to have a chance to play in a realistically structured, and operated, group. The 3rd Recon is a realism unit, not a Military Simulation (Mil-Slim) unit, this means that while we do utilize a similar structure and SOP to the United States Marines we do not do some of the extra things that may qualify as being a bit "over the top". Examples of these would be addressing by rank, saluting officers in game, and also calling a channel to attention when an officer joins in. We feel that these things, although fun for some people, call for a bit to much realism and, when it comes down to it, subtract from the fun factor of the game after being implemented and enforced. Our training doctrine is made up of two "Phases". The first phase of training is Bootcamp (Recruit Training) and the second phase is Basic Recon Course. These two phases of training have been deemed necessary by our Command Staff, the main reason for this decision being that we are a smaller sized unit, therefore we have to have our members trained in similar techniques and operational procedures. Though our training may seem like a large amount, it is not. The overall time that it will take to train you is one day for phase 1, and three separate days for phase 2. This training ensures that all members have a large amount of the same training in their respective fields in order to ensure that, when we go into game, we are ready to complete our objectives in the most time and cost effective ways, while still having a large amount of fun! Operations/official trainings in the 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion take place on weekends, the times are dependent on the schedules that our members provide us in order to allow Command and S-3 to make accurate decisions on operations and trainings in order to allow the maximum amount of our members to attend and take an active role in the unit. We also ask that all members make sure to fill out LOAs and other request forms on the website on our MSR area (Military Service Request) in order for our staff to know who wont be where during what. Available units for members/prospective members to be a part of within the 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion include our Navy Corpsman (SARCs), Reconnaissance Men/Scouts (depending on your choice of Direct Action or Deep Reconnaissance assignment) and our Aviation Detachment. All prospective members will have to endure the two first phases of training, and anyone who either wishes to become a Navy Corpsman or a Student Pilot will have to go the the respective school in order to qualify and be assigned to that unit. We may open up additional parts to our unit as it grows, but for the time being, we are only offering these different MOS areas. Requirements/How to Join In order to join the 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, prospective members must fit the basic requirements in order to join the unit (listed below) and also go onto our forums (link to follow) and read our "Rules & Regulations" section that can be found once you have join the website, without an application, and looked under the information tab. When you have read and reviewed these, please feel free to join our Teamspeak 3 (again, address to follow) and speak to a C-Staff member or S-1 in order to answer any questions you have or address any problems. Once that is done, you may submit an application and then re-join Teamspeak in order to get interviewed by a recruiter. If you have done everything right, you should see an message pop-up that says "Application Accepted", which means you have been accepted as a new recruit into the unit! Once you are a full member of the unit, you need to download our modpack and other required addons in order to take part in unit operations and trainings. We have compiled our modpack in order to include all of the amazing addons that have been released for ARMA 3, to allow our unit members to have a great time playing this game with all of the added features that mods allow us to have. Our S-4 department tests mods extensively before implementing them, and is always on the search for new ones. Meet the age of 16 (exceptions can be made, speak with a member of S-1 or C-Staff) Have a LEGAL and UNBANNED copy of ARMA III Must have a working microphone Must be able to dedicated a few hours on week days and more on weekends to unit events Have Teamspeak 3 Have the ability to be active on Teamspeak and Ingame, as well as notify us when you will not be. Have the knowledge/willingness to learn new things and install mods required for the unit Understand that this is a realism unit, not a military simulation unit. We are a semi-relaxed group out of game, but when we go into game we put our "gamefaces" on and get the job done while still having a high level of fun during the course of the mission Server Information Teamspeak 3: ts45.gameservers.com:9306 -
