Thought I would post here instead of making a new thread The questionnaire is now closed and thanks again With his permission I can announce the winner of the random prize draw is NeoDecoy (Nightwolf here on the forum), who has upgraded from Arma 2 and is now the proud owner of Arma 3 (thanks to the convenient sale price) :) Some people have requested to see the results of the survey, I will be creating a report of the data (including all the data from all the communities that took part) and hosting it online. I will post a link (with the mods permission) once its complete (might be a few weeks). All data will be anonymised.

thanks to everyone who has taken part so far, I have had a really good response rate (80!) I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be closing the questionnaire after today, on Monday (24th), so I will be contacting the winner of the random prize draw then :)

thanks to all who have participated so far, its very cool so far there has been around 50 participants, thats really good considering it only went live the other day. However the magic number in this sort of study is 100 :)

[Edit] I am conducting some research into the social engagement in various online team-based games and I am looking for volunteers to participate in a user experience study. If you would like to participate in some games research and maybe win a prize please keep reading (more on the prize below). The study just involves playing Arma 3 (or indeed 2) then following the link below to the online questionnaire. [Questionnaire now closed] I realise there is lots of variation in the way people play Arma so if you are playing player vs player (PvP) please fill out the whole questionnaire, if you are playing Coop vs bots, you only need to complete the Participant Info section & Section 2. Playing Arma 3 or 2 is acceptable before filling out this questionnaire, but please remember to state which game you played in the relevant section of the questionnaire. Hopefully if I gather enough data there will be an interesting comparison to be made between the two. I also have an optional prize draw for participants. Data is very valuable to me so I am using some research funds to buy Steam games to give away. I was thinking of DayZ or Rust as they are fairly popular, but if the winner doesn't want one of those I will get something of equivalent value. If you want to be entered into the prize draw just include your email in the questionnaire so I can contact you should you win. All email addresses will be deleted once the draws are complete. While there will be various game communities participating in this research, each game community will have its own prize draw, so someone from the Arma community will win. I will also be conducting project wide prize draws once I have all the data. I asked the mod ‘Maionaze’ for permission before I posted this, just so you know this isnt random spam. About me: I am currently working as an EngD research student at the University of York in the UK, I am now in my final year, and my research is focused on immersion and presence in online team-based computer games an other multi-user virtual environments. Please answer honestly. All data collected will be anonymised. The questionnaire will be open for a week or so, and I will post a summary of the results once the data is in and analysed .
