Sorry to revive a month old thread but do you guys happen to have razer keyboards? This same exact issue started happening to me the other day immediately after I updated the razer synapses software.

I just started playing arma again after at least a 6 month break or so. Every hour or two my game will crash and give me a "memory cant be written to" error or something along those lines. I cant recall exactly what I have my paging file set to and Im not on my gaming desktop at the moment to check but I know I have it set pretty low. About as low as it can get without causing issues with games. In the past Ive had memory issues with games that require a very high minimum paging file to run properly. I havent bothered to do any troubleshooting aside from verifying arma and restarting my computer 3 times but I thought Id ask to see if anyone knew if they have.

A plea to BI: Please let us choose when to update. Automatic updates break the game.
hamhugger replied to Drumheller's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
I dont understand the push back about having the option to select different branches. The only people who would opt in and select a different branch are people who choose to. I fail to see how this would effect anyone negatively. It seems like you think we dont want to update because we think the updates are not needed or we want you to have to manually update. Automatic updates should and always be the default option unless you choose other wise. We would only like this feature so we can continue to play uninterrupted and not have a mad dash to figure out what mods need to be fixed so our servers dont crash an hour or two into an operation making it a huge waste of time. There are a lot people who put hours of work each week preparing each operation and we have a dedicated mod team that looks into these issues and for the most part are pretty capable people. It would be a load off their shoulders if they didnt have to work relentlessly until the next op to ensure everything will go smooth. As as your worry about splitting the community, they community is already split a million ways with the abundant of mods that servers have enabled. Anyone who would opt in for a different branch would most likely would not play on a public server anyways. And the public servers like King of the Hill and Wasteland would obviously keep their servers up to date with the latest build since they are a public server. -

I will try that suggestion in a few. Thank you. And yes I only did the "*" to block the password and the beserver is a .cfg extension. -

As far as I can tell everything should be correct. Aside from what I posted above what could be causing it? I've only just had a server for under a month so I'm still learning a lot so I dont know where everything is yet. -

I've read through this whole thread and did everything everyone suggested but I still get "can not connect to server" when I try. It looks like ive done everything correct and I checked the password about 5 times and copied and pasted it just to be sure. Any help would be appreciated. I think it has to do with my -profile= but I im not sure. Ive looked in the files but didnt see anything that looked like it would fix it. Here are my launch parameters My BattleEye Folder. I had to make the BEServer.cfg myself as it was not anywhere on my server files. It was defaulting to the "DefaultServer" folder even though there was not a BEServer.cfg in there. And here is what my cfg file looks like minus the password And finally my server cfg -
Mission Design resources (the idea stage)

Thanks that actually has some useful information. They do a great job on breaking it down. Thanks. I'll look forward to the links. If it makes a difference we mainly stick with Marine Corps operations though the missions I make will not be for official events so im not just limited to that. -

Thanks. I did quite a bit of googling but havent searched those terms yet. I found 2 solid threads with some great info on realism missions but the threads were literally 10 years old so a lot of the external links people used didnt work. -

Very nice. You cane export it as a PDF if you click on "Go To Spreadsheet View" and then to "File". Very handy to have. Nice work. -
Mission Design resources (the idea stage)

Im not talking about how to build a mission but more so the idea stage of a mission. Wikipedia helps a bit for ideas but is there anything better out there besides reading a full blown book about certain operations or campaigns. And is there anything like this aimed towards arma specifically? Examples like how many hostile forces are too many depending on how many the mission slots. Whats the appropriate amount of armored vehicle if the mission has them. How to write a proper briefing. Things like that. I know theyre pretty specific questions but anything along those lines will do. -

Oops. I'll report this so it gets deleted. Thanks. -
Sorry if this answer is easily found but Ive searched and could not find an answer to my specific question. Is there a way to properly setup a squad that descends from Fireteam 1 to whatever? I posted a picture below to show what it looks like for me(ignore the single rifleman.). I want the order to go as followed Alpha 1-1(Squad Leader)>Alpha 1-2 (FT1)>Alpha 1-3(FT2)>Alpha 1-4(FT3). I placed them in that order. Is it just random and you have to delete and replace them until you get them to your liking similar to tasks?

Oh..:P I just redownloaded the full pack and it worked fine. Thanks though.
