Steam - Freezing at the Main Menu - Disappearing
Jawa Overlord replied to Jawa Overlord's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
I'm an extremely lazy man, I don't know why I would have to do this work if all of my other games work just fine. I can run Arma 3 by messing around with launch settings each time I boot it. If I can run it without crashing most of the time, why would I have to change anything, but on the other hand, why does it not launch perfectly fine every time. Each start I have to mess with either -nosplash, -nologs, or -nobenchmark and then one variation will run it fine. -

I turned off my AMD overdrive after I first got the game and that didn't help. I guess I could try v-sync or looking into my drivers. -edit- Checked my drivers through amd auto detect and it said they were up to date, so I doubt it's a problem there. I haven't gotten it to start again today. Latest rpt -

They've been as updated as can be. I can get it to work by ways that make no logical sense. The launch settings in steam have to be re-arranged/changed each time I start it after a period of time. I haven't got it to work consecutively without changing the launch settings, but I can get it to work. -

Running Windows 7 Home Premium, AMD Radeon HD 6800 series graphics card, 8gb ram, i5 processor with dx11 I have tried -nobenchmark, -nolongs. I have steam in game enabled, tried disabling that which did not help. I have no subscribed content. I've tried running as admin, reinstalling, and verifying game cache. Nothing works so far. I couldn't have been banned in any way, form, or shape as I have not played multi-player, or single-player for that matter. I've tried offline mode, same freezing at the main menu. Updated I tried again and it was a black screen with sound which is a step up. So I searched on more launch setting and used those, but they didn't work. I was determined to get it to work and for some reason, having no launch setting fixed it for me. My game is running perfectly fine now as far as I know. Was able to get 20 mins in singleplayer and will try multiplayer later. Then, again. Not working any more, it just goes to the desktop and ends up in background processes. Latest RPT file -
A3 Freeze @ menu\logo = Steam Workshop problem
Jawa Overlord replied to ACPL Jon's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
I am an odd one apparently who has an unsolvable issue. Running Windows 7 Home Premium, AMD Radeon HD 6800 series graphics card, 8gb ram, i5 processor with dx11 I'm running through steam and have about 40 minutes on Arma III, all 40 minutes have been doing nothing but looking at a frozen main menu. I have tried -nobenchmark, -nolongs. In the spoiler is a long butt rpt -edit- I tried again and it was a black screen with sound which is a step up. So I searched on more launch setting and used those, but they didn't work. I was determined to get it to work and for some reason, having no launch setting fixed it for me. My game is running perfectly fine now as far as I know. I too am having a similar problem. I'm using AMD Radeon 6800 series, windows 7, i5, 8gb ram and have run plenty of other games fine. However, when I try to start Arma it glitches past the splash screens and freezes/crashes at the start/main menu. Sometimes when I ctrl alt del to get to task manager it tells me my graphics card has failed but recovered. Please help, I don't want my 35$ to have been wasted!
