How does ARMA 2 run now days? Keen to get in to the ARMA series, tried to start with ARMA3 but can't get it to run so maybe worth trying ARMA2?

I tried Arma again yesterday for the first time in a couple of months and still only saw 15fps. Not very happy to be honest as its not something I can even sell on.

OK, thanks. Will just have to try and tweak the in game graphics settings some more to try and get some more frames :-)

TBH with the graphics settings I've selected at 1080p I don't think I'm asking too much from my hardware. It's not the best spec in the world but am only asking it to push out 1080p, and as said it does happily max out Battlefield 4 at 80-120fps all day long. (While playing BF4. GPU sits at around 20% CPU sits at around 30% Utililization (where you see that 5% below, is usually 28% while playing ARMA3)

Am new to Arma and just for reference this PC can max out BF4 on Ultra @ 1080p with 120fps so either Arma 3 is really poorly optimised or there are some Arma specific tweaks I need to do?

Yeah its not the auto hover stabalizing that I'm seeing so will defo check controls.

Am new to ARMA and have a problem, when taking control of a UAV or flying a Heli the nose keeps pitching up by itself to the point it flips the vehicle over? If for example I turn auto hover on then turn it off again without touching any controls the vehicles nose starts climbing by itself? Or if I take control of a UAV that's on the ground as soon as I throttle up (without touching any other controls) again the nose starts climbing until it flips over?

Was going to buy Arma 3 Digital Deluxe in the morning as it was on offer at £32 this afternoon, but just looked again and its back up to £42! Is the sale over?

Have a free weekend and want to start looking at ARMA 3, I see GAME and AMAZON have the Deluxe version on DVD for less than £30 but can't get it to me by Saturday. Don't really want to pay £40 odd for the download when it's cheaper on hard copy (work that out?) So does anyone know of any stores in the UK that actually have it available?

Cool, think I'll give it a go then. Those are obviously low fps figures where PC gaming is concerned (although from searching and reading they seem average to ARMA3), so does 30fps feel OK on ARMA because I know if my other games dropped to 30fps they'd be clunky and slow and it would drive me mad! (Usually I see over 120fps).

I have stuck my system specs in the sticky so will hopefully found out how it'll run for me, If that turns out OK then I have a couple of questions... 1. What's the best way to buy ARMA3? Looking at the Digital Deluxe version, is that available on CD/DVD or am I better off going through Steam? I'm coming from the Battlefield series so am already used to digital downloads via Origin. 2. As a total ARMA noob I'd need to take a whole lot of time to find my feet so other than single player missions (i assume there are some?) are there many team death match style servers that aren't too full on where I'd have some breathing space to get started?

Am new and don't have ARMA yet, have asked about my spec in the 'Will my PC run ARMA' thread and have learned that ARMA is CPU intensive and that my FX8350 might not be up to it. So as a follow on to that, does anyone here actually use an FX8350? If so how does it run? Obviously BF4 is a big budget title and compared to ARMA is well optimised etc so not a great comparison. I'm all about gameplay over graphics but BF4 has spoiled me with destruction and shininess. So, can anyone actually confirm what sort of graphics settings at what FPS I should see in ARMA3?
