Will-my-pc-run-Arma3? What cpu/gpu to get? What settings? What system specifications?
LSD_Timewarp82 replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Thats the cool thing when building PC´s, u dont need to buy the most expensive Hardware to have good performance. I suggested you to buy a 4690K, it´s 100Bucks cheaper, is a little bit cooler with temperatures as the 4790K and with 2 klicks u can adjust the 4690K to 4,5Ghz. I have one myself, no voltage increse needed when rising from 3,5Ghz to 4,6Ghz. The Mainboard i suggested to you is the same as mine,SLI & Crossfire is of course possible with this Mainboard, it has a very good bios and a ton of possibilitys to safley overclock the system, when you want to i could help you then with overclocking. The Noctua cooler with 2x120mm Fans is a perfect choice for this setup, i have a Noctua myself, CPU doesnt go over 55°C @ Load. So you can save bare money and you will have a great PC which should run most of Games fluid, expect Arma of course ^^ And talking about buying a pc for years, well, something like that doesnt exist. In a couple of months the companys will present "the next Generations" of Hardware, when this day is reached your Hardware is old again ^^ Hope you understand what i mean, English isnt my native language :) -

Dude, never spend so much cash on a PC, Hardware is preety much old real fast. It´s like with TV´s and Mobile Phones, short time after you buy the best a better product is on the market. If i were you i would change it to these Hardware which would save you about 400$. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/89nYhM A 970GTX would be enough too (in my opinion) but i would wait until Nvidia gives a legit declaration to the actual discussion http://www.anandtech.com/show/8935/geforce-gtx-970-correcting-the-specs-exploring-memory-allocation More money you could save by choosing other Screen, but this is up to you -
Yeah okay, i will add a text to your ticket tomorrow afternoon ;) Enjoy the Game now, you deserved it :)

AH 99 Blackfoot Weapon Problem
LSD_Timewarp82 replied to sahloknir's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
have the same problem ^^ really confusing -
I am glad i could help, so when the issue is gone enjoy the Game ;) I dont know to what this bug is related to, but as i saw the pic with the sun it was like a clear answer to me, thats why i gave you my SweetFx config, i was to 90% sure that this will solve your problem ;)
-
Sure, here: http://www34.zippyshare.com/v/69b0AV1s/file.html

No dude. Just load the rar. All Files which are in the Rar you put into x86\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3 ( its the main directory of the Game) Then launch Arma 3 and wait until main screen will show up. Basicly Sweet FX is active when u have the files in your directory, you can check if SwFx is active by pressing the Key "Scroll_Lock" on your Keyboard. So when you press Scroll Lock the screen instantly will change the colors, depends if its on/off. Scroll Lock is the on/off button for SweetFx. The Pause Key reloads the Shaders, you should press this once too, so you can go sure that the game reloads the shaders. Cause when i look your last screens it looks for me like a wrong adjusted setup with sun settings. If that is correct my Sweet FX files you have will fix this problem. Once again: you dont need to enter codes, just put the files there where i mentioned, fire up the game and wait till main screen is there. Then simply press the Scroll_Lock Key on the Keyboard to toggle the effects on/off. The more colorful screen is the correct one

True. For me personal 40-50 AI´s are enough, when i have more AI active i cant even walk 10 meters without beeing a target for the Enemy.
-
Okay, i got one more, but then i run out of ideas ^^ I give you now my personal Sweet Fx Setup, try this please and tell me if something changed for you Its my personal but not finished Setup for Arma3, simply press first the Pause Key (important to reload shaders) and then the Scroll Lock when u are on the Main Menu of Arma 3, you should see the difference. Report back if that worked for you Put these files into your "\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3 http://www.filedropper.com/swfx This are the Keys you need: ;toggle shader keycode key_toggle = 145 ; 145 = the SCROLL_LOCK key ;make screenshot keycode key_screenshot = 44 ; 44 = PRINTSCREEN ;reload shader files keycode key_reload = 19 ; 19 = the PAUSE key

Its not the CPU´s fault, it´s the unoptimized Engine. You can have an Octacore with 10Ghz, it wont solve the problem with low fps
-
Hmmm, try this: open Zeus while Gaming and go for the Modules section and there into Enviroment. There is something like Weather. Try to set Overcast with Zeus and including to this speed up the time how long a day takes. It would be great if you would also Skip time by 24 hours with Zeuzs after you set the module

He will reach 60 fps, but only when he is close to alone on an open field without some action. Close to towns he will drop to 20-30 fps, when he prefer to play such Arma Life crap he will encounter even lower frames -
Okay; write this into your Console while running the Game. Then tell me if something happens: simulWeatherSync; And you should try this code too, this code hides the clouds when is set not correctly Try both, mean true and false SimulSetWrap true

Do someone know how to remove the Waterline bug on the map "Napf" ? Which files needs to be deleted with Pbo Manager. Deleting the Pond folder wasnt sucessful :( -
Yeah try MCC and adjust weather with Overcast, mean that clouds would appear. This happens instantly after you will press confirm. The logs are enabled by default, they are stored in "C:\Users\Your PC Name\AppData\Local\Arma 3" to get acess to the appdata folders you need to adjust it in the Pereferences of the folders on your Windows

So what are you try to tell me? Do you think i am not aware of the ridiculous Utilization of CPU&GPU at Arma3? SLI doesnt affect the frames, well it does affect, but not so how a SLI User would expect it. I know it by own tests i´ve done. The effect is that you wont loose much frames as with Single GPU, but there is no advantage due higher constant frames. Basicly it´s legit to say that Arma´s Utilization of GPU&CPU is a joke, its ridiculous. One thing for me is sure, he wont get this 60 fps constantly. No chance. -
There is a mod to disable Vignette, i use it myself. It´s called UI Corrections, maybe it would be worth a try?
-
Hmm, you could try this: add a Mod like MCC where you are able to set various weathers, and please turn on the rpt error logs. So add MCC, open it Ingame and set the weather through MCC (when MCC open -> Icon to set weather is on 3rd or 4th position on the right side) and tell what happens. If there is an issue the rpt log will tell us more.

So? Then my Haswell Refresh CPU (which run over 5,4Ghz when i use my Mach II GT Compressorcooling) is "bottlenecking"? Some people use words like "bottleneck" too easy, without advanced knowledge in the whole archictecture. My Ram runs great too, 2000Mhz with 9-11-9-28 1Timing Mode seems okay for me. I build since over 10 years PC´s for Gamers and Companys, over the last year i build a bunch of PC´s (mostly Overclocked) and not a single one was able to run the constant 60 fps, even not those with Hexa-& OctaCore with Tri Crossfire and Quad SLI. So dont spread informations which are totaly wrong. Thank you. -
Ok, for me its okay when we set a time like last time. US is forward 6 hours to Germany i think, so i agree to start test when Shadow is ready
