  1. so since the big distinction is that this is an "expansion" and not a DLC I wonder if BIS is still going to do the same thing they did with dlcs where some of it is integrated into the main game for everyone and some of it is behind a paywall.

  4. I have a very strange problem that came up yesterday. I was playing the 'Alive Insurgency Revived' mission with a friend and we quit out and restarted it so someone else could join. after we did that, every mission that uses ALIVE now refuses to load. the game didn't get updated, nor did any of my mods. nothing has changed but ALIVE is now just broken for me and for my friends for no reason. it's even broken on my the clients of my friends somehow. I tried verifying the game and reinstalling ALIVE but it still doesn't work. I don't understand how this is possible to be honest. during the same session where ALIVE worked it just suddenly stopped and now a day later it still doesn't work.

    TMR Modular Realism

    this mod claims to increase the damage of weapons and make body armour a bit more realistic but when I install it it takes about 9 hits to the body with a 7.62 rifle to kill an enemy. is this intentional?
  6. after taking a break from arma for a couple months, ALIVE will no longer run on my dedicated server. I've updated it, I've double checked and double checked again that I have no spelling errors in my command line, I've made new missions as well as trying some of the sample missions available. it works fine on a local server, but on a dedicated it just kicks me back to the mission list whenever I choose any mission that has alive enabled. what am I missing here edit: I figured out it was actually a corrupt update to the game that was causing the problem.
  7. because that's what bohemia is already doing and it's the reason arma 3 is a complete disaster and dying fast. bohemia either doesn't have the time, talent or staff to properly support modern hardware with the engine they currently have. when you try to make one of the most technically advanced games out there and your game doesn't utilize hardware any better than a title from 2003 would then you're going to have massive problems, which arma 3 does.
  8. apologies if this has already been discussed, but I can't seem to get the jsrs part of this working. all the weapons and vehicles are completely silent with a handful of exceptions. I've installed the sound hotfix and every other part of this pack works, and of course I have jsrs+CBA installed and jsrs works fine on vanilla content. does anyone know why this would be happening?
  9. so how do you actually use the ''forceadduniform'' mentioned in the changelog? when I try to add uniforms from other factions it still leaves me naked.
  10. so, gamespy shutting down has created a problem for me that it doesn't appear anyone else has. my server shows up on the steam list, but connecting to it yields a ''connecting failed" message. when I type my public ip via remote connection, nothing shows up. when I type my local IP, it shows up and I can connect without issue. my friends can't connect through the steam list, remote or through the ''join game'' steam function. connecting my PC directly to my modem negates this problem, but this is not a viable fix for me. I've tried: forwarding every possible port you can imagine disabling firewall completely installing and using the steamcmd version of the server running just the vanilla server.exe with no config or password or anything running the server as admin adding the steam ports to the serverconfig
  11. that's very strange, because for me it makes zero difference whether someone has the mod or not.
  12. so after a bit more research I found out that the problem isn't only this mod. for some reason the game was forcing parts of BWmod to be active even though I uninstalled it, and I've now discovered that the the problem was a conflict between BWmod and this.
