    Hunt the Sniper v9

HUNT THE SNIPER v9 A PvP scenario where NATO forces hunt an insurgent sniper around the towns of Takistan A quick fire multiplayer game mode that's great for small or large groups of people. The objective of the game is simple, NATO forces must eliminate the Insurgent Sniper, The Insurgent Sniper must wipe out all NATO forces. The game can be scored by everyone having a go as the sniper and the Sniper with the most kills at the end of all the rounds is the winner, however it can played in any way you like. Game Layout NATO forces spawn at an FOB roughly in the center of the map. They are locked in this base as well as other FOB's located around the map for 3 minutes while intel of the Snipers location is found. During this time NATO forces can pick from a variety of weapons including Robert Hammer weapons as an optional parameter while also deciding on there approach and tactics for the mission. During this time the Insurgent Sniper is placed in a random town populated with lots of civilians within Takistan. The Sniper is given a box with limited weapons and ammo left over from a previous fight and is also fortunate enough to have some captured NATO equipment. The Sniper should grab whatever they can, plant explosives, hide weapons amongst houses or even within the civilians gear to make them look armed. There is unlimited tactics and ways to play the game. Another plus for the Sniper is that he is dressed fully as a civilian thus enabling him to blend in perfectly for stealthy kills. After 3 minutes are up NATO forces are shown what town the Sniper is in and can proceed to take any route they wish. Within the FOB's are light vehicles, unarmed choppers as well as an instant map click HALO jump to allow players to get quickly into the battle. Once NATO forces are detected in or near the town by civilians, the ammo box will be hidden by the civilians and a game announcer will inform players that the game has begun. From this point on the game last 20 minutes or until either side has been killed. Running game commentary will inform players of how long is left in the game at certain points throughout. If everyone has not been wiped out from one side within 20 minutes the game ends in a draw. Rules The game has been designed to create the most freedom within a hunt style PvP but remain with some rules. The NATO ammo boxes have been modified to include no TWS or HEAT optics. These weapons can ruin the game mode so if you do manage to spawn them in please dont. Second rule is that no grenade/launcher spamming. This game mode has been designed as a serious special forces mission therefore blowing up every house defeats the object of the game. Plus should you kill a lot of civilians you may find them shooting back if the sniper has armed them. LEA loadout has been disabled to prevent any cheating Sniper is dressed as civilian making you think twice about every civilian you meet Game is different every time with new players and different tactics Random towns Robert Hammer weapons are optional Great for any size groups Ability to have more than one sniper if you wish PvP makes the game intense right from the beginning Gameplay Help and Tips If you know before hand that you will be playing this game mode on your server we recommend you change your characters face or distinguishable features as these will revel you instantly. Alternatively put on the balaclava found in the box and take it off again. We, at Iron Fists, have also made a rule where NATO forces cannot engage the sniper from outside the red circle. This is to add to the realism of searching house by house however play to whatever your styles :D ARMA 3 VERSION COMING SOON Thanks to all the members at Iron Fists for testing and providing great input to make the game what it is DOWNLOAD HUNT THE SNIPER HERE OR HERE
  2. Hi I'm creating an instant halo script for my mission and was wondering if there is a way to force close the map? Its not a major need as players can do it themselves but after spending a long time looking through the BI forums and Arma 2 scripting commands looking for something relevant it seems odd that there is 'showmap' and 'forcemap' commands but no close map or exit item commands. The only way I thought of doing it was through deleting the map and then adding them again but that seems like an unnecessary task. Thanks to anyone that can help :D SOLVED Very simple scripting error caused the command that I was using not to work the other way. Put simply to open the map use 'openmap true;' to close 'openMap false;'.
