Hello everyone, I'm unfortunately not very experienced with BITools (Only 130ish hours, mostly working on cars) and have just made my first weapon (pp90). I really want to create a laser gun, like you may see in Star Wars or Star Trek. I know this is possible as I've seen flamethrowers, fire extinguisher, and other types of guns shooting out things other than typical bullets. So, my questions are: How do you alter the bullets to something like a lazer or flames? Can you change the particle effects that occur when a bullet lands? Can you change the speed of the projectile the weapon fires? I would appreciate anyone that could help and hopefully we can get a good discussion going on different ways to achieve this. I'm a year late, but I hope I can get a reply from someone... I've started to model my first building for arma 3 with sketchup http://i.imgur.com/Btg5tYA.jpg There are several errors I'm facing, first off...it wasn't all correctly UVmapped I guess. Only half the building was textured once I imported it from either an FBX or OBJ format from sketchup. The other half was incorrectly inverted but I fixed that by selecting faces and pressing W. Does anyone know how I could texture the other half? Object Builder really sucks at texturing, when I try to texture the outside wall the proportions aren't right and the texture is really tiny. Also, another error I've ran into with this building and a few other objects are when you get close to the model a texture will become heavily tented BLUE. Anyone had this issue before? Thanks, Tal

Hey Falcos, I've checked out all of the other communities website links there supposedly using Applegate. It seems that all of their websites and either no longer existent or belong to someone else now (besides A3L, they are still using it). Foxhound Gaming is still using Applegate as our Arma 2 Island Life Map and as we move forward in the development of Arma 3 Island Life we are considering using it for that as well, but I'm hesitant because of A3L using it. What are your thoughts on that? I don't want to seem as if I'm "copying" them; however, it is a fantastic map and I've been using it for quite a while now. -

Hello everyone, I am apart of an Island Life community and I want to make my server a "Call 911 Script". I just need a little help doing it. I am thinking you have an option on your phone to call 911 and it plays some .ogg file for the client that executed it. Also giving you a space to type in a message for Blufor. ie I am shot. I am getting shot at. etc Meanwhile, Blufor is notified that someone has called 911 and it marks his position on the map in SIDECHAT for Blufor. So, where should I start? I have never made an sqf script before -

Downloaded some of these files and it appears it broke a lot of stuff, not sure why. The cube no longer spins, some doors wont work, signs in middle of road, and floating buildings. Although, we have the buildings we didn't have before there are a lot of out of place stuff now that we really cannot fix. -

I am hoping to turn this into a guide for beginners like me. I have never scripted in SQF before and have minimal knowledge in JS. I am hoping to join a Dev team for a new LIFE mod coming out soon for ARMA 2. Pretty much similar to Island Life. I was wondering if anyone out there can point me in the right direction. Show me some sample scripts tell me what does what. All I need to know is what tools to use, what they do, and when to use them. Examples will help me ALOT. Such as a food script, bleed out, and etc. Just so I can see how it works. I will post all useful things in this so other noobs like me can just see this and not ask around like I am doing. Thanks guys.
