  1. You haven´t heard? a standalone Project Reality is being made with CryEngine 3. Looks sick at the moment. Cryengine 3 even though it can´t handle big areas (allegedly) it can do things like walking inside vehicles (like Star Citizen) you can house vehicles inside other vehicles. The sea in Assasin´s Creed looks INSANE. Graphics seems to have far better potential as well. It seems people think that because Arma is alone in their field with the huge map that no other engine could do a better job. Which obviously is a ridiculous assessment. Arma´s engines seems to be more hobby-style engines compared to something done by a multi-million dollar company with far greater resources. Never seen an engine with this many bugs, with this crappy MP experience, with this many scripts just to do quite ordinary things that in many cases should have been in the game in the first place! Well...except for the previous engine. People are going to be shocked the day Arma gets a competitor..

    ARMA3 patch 1.02 discussion

Now i get about twice the FPS on Altis then Stratis. Stratis runs like sh*t atm. Altis the opposite, very good now in singleplayer.
  3. NATO and Sweden are very closely tied though. Think of it as a partnership rather then a membership. http://www.nato.int/docu/review/2013/Partnerships-NATO-2013/Sweden-partnerships/EN/

CiA Petition Letter to BIS and DnA's Response

What i understood from the response was "the sim guys left the building so we decided to create more of a gamish game instead of aiming for a simulator", something which they have advertised with older titles from the start.
  8. It´s the game. You can run Crysis smoother then this. People can excuse whatever they want but the fact is the Arma 3 engine is one of the most poorly optimized game engines in all of gaming history. Still better then A2 though so can´t really complain on my part.
  9. C-17 and/or A400M Great airplanes and ticks every box we can imagine i think.

I´d like to see a Manhattan type map with enterable skyscrapers etc.

    Lack of airfield near Kavala?

Agreed. I would also like to see some modification to the grass airports. way too bumpy and a bit on the short side.
  12. The brakes are the most powerful thing you have on a car in terms of performance so i´m just wondering why they are crap? Also, from my experience running a lot of life mods lately and driving the Pickup it does seem the handbrake is a better tool for slowing down then the actual brakes. That should only lock the rears if it´s a new and tight one. Is there a ticket up for this or should i make one? Same with ATV. Brakes made of paper.

    Brakes on the Pickup, terrible

Don´t worry, this won´t get fixed anyways, people just downvote without really grasping the issue.

A good review and cpu/gpu benchmark by Tech Spot.

This is just false. It´s actually very easy to test if it´s the GPU that´s in charge of view distance. Like choosing everything graphical on standard then to ultra, about 1fps in difference for me. Increase view distance by a smidge and all hell breaks loose. It´s pure CPU power.

Vote and we might get it fixed.

    Brakes on the Pickup, terrible

And if ATV have none we should be able to tip it over due to it´s short wheelbase and quite high CoG. But with 2035 in mind, it´s perfectly possible for it to have ABS that make sure the rear end does not come up. Bit like most modern motorcycles today with their advanced ABS systems. Also if it rains, braking distances should be considerably longer.

    Brakes on the Pickup, terrible

ah yea, understood. But we can´t even use that, it´s like we are sailing to a stop right now. Even at speeds of 15-20km/h it takes years to stop the ATV or pickup or whatever you have. You can for example stop, back and turn then get on the gas and you´ll see just how crap they are. Appreciative no doubt and already known to most (i sure hope)
  18. There are now :) Diamonds, Salt, Sand, etc. I was lucky and found over one million on the street lol. I´m like a BOSS right now.

    Brakes on the Pickup, terrible

You have to be kidding me. Go take your real car and stomp on it. See what happens. Take the pickup, try it at around 30km/h even. It should stop on a dime but it doesn´t. It´s an extremely slow process to stop the car compared to real life. Actually you do want to use them. If you don´t use them it´s several orders of magnitude more car lengths to stop. You probably don´t want to stomp on the pedal at 200 but you should definitely use the brakes to stop the car. This is common sense. Here´s a 40 ton fully loaded truck going at what i would estimate is over 50km/h on a wet surface. Edit: looking at onboard that´s 60km/h. And it doesn´t use 100% braking force at first, only the last bit of the braking phase. Now imagine something with much less mass.

Is it just me or is the voting bar removed? Bug?

    Brakes on the Pickup, terrible

True but i guess it´s up to us to keep on pushing on these things, Made a ticket, please vote guys, in the name of realism!
  22. Is CAS dead in a way? No new airplanes in production for these specific roles? I think Trent might actually have nailed the planes coming. I would expect the A-10.

What if...Altis had like weather seazons

ok thanks, will have a look on their site! Sent them an email now,
  24. Seems the guys have been working flat out now for several days to get this V3 version out. Seems to be quite a lot more problems then they anticipated. I heard some guy talking about Diamond caves, sounds interesting :)

All this buzz about the performence issue

Oh but it doesn´t. Servers don´t give a flying F about your CPU. You can be using a supercomputer or a potato with electricity running through it. Makes no difference.
