    I remember there's an AI commander mod for Arma 2 that I believe was ported. I forget the name but it had the ability to dynamically react to the battlefield, scout, flank, resupply, ect.

    Are there any RTS or RTS esq mods out there for single player? RTT is fine too, if we're being technical. Actual fighting isn't my thing but RTS/FPS hybrids are pretty cool. I'd prefer armchair generalling and I'm not a fan of micromanagement.

    People not dying

    I'm having a terrible time killing just about anything. I've been using the mxm. There's way too much sway I think. There's also a lot of times when I should hit someone and nothing happens. The bullet doesn't hit next to them. It just disappears. What's going on here? Testing on teammates, I've found it takes an insane (5-6) amount of center mass shots to kill. What the hell is going on here?
  5. I finally caved and bought the beta. Im pleased to find that infantry combat is much more fluid and soldiers behave much more intelligently. Perhaps more importantly, there is finally hard cover. I have a few questions though. What do the commands advance, pull back, and flank actually do and are they useful? Secondly, this is somewhat editor related and somewhat just in general, how do I setup infantry effectively for defense (whether its my own squad, through HC, or in the editor).

    faster doesnt mean deadlier. a 7.62 will poke a hole right through you. a 5.56 might tumble through you, thrashing organs, no exit wound

    How are the tanks supposed to match up by the way? It was rather obvious in previous games, where the Abrams just beat everything.

    I guess I have lost track of time. Really though, adjusting damage for tanks and adding a machinegun would take an hour tops

  19. How do I effectively use HC with ai led subordinates? This more applies to A2 but I'm sure ill have difficulties in A3 as well. I know how to move units with HC but not effectively utilize them. It usually results in a mistimed front assault mess

    The video was excellent but I have one question. What does the suppressive fire command do? In the video he says he's not sure, same with the fire command

    Weapon sway

    Im having a very hard time making shots connect. Im not sure if its the sway or bugs. Theres been times where a mans entire body was within my swag and it still took several rounds to connect.
  23. In Arma 2, I always had trouble setting up an effective defensive position. I had essentially 2 choices. I could force everyone to stand up so that they could shoot at the enemy but that just led to them getting killed very quickly because they couldn't duck under heavy fire and they fired much more inaccurately than the prone attackers. Or, I could let them control their stance but they just proned. In general, it was just a huge pain to make an effective defensive position. So, 2 things. One, is it any better in A3 and two, am I just doing it wrong in A2?
