There's only one problem with this idea - there isn't a Martian GPS and what satellites we do have around it do not come close to a constant-coverage constellation.

1) Why not? 2) This will have to be coupled with modifying the photo system a bit, though. As it stands, there's a limitation of 50 pictures per rover.

The timeskip mechanic works - I'm not denying that at all. Admittedly, at first I thought it was bugged but reading a similar issue on the forum proved otherwise. However, in its present incarnation it's a tad non-obvious and doesn't provide much affordance about its functionality. What I propose is that the red-scrollbar-then-click-on-the-interval-to-select mechanic is replaced with a down arrow button, which opens a drop-down list, and possibly a select button under five or six rows of options if a confirmation is still required or desired. This revision would provide the affordance that the previous system didn't. It's a small change, but an ergonomic one, and low priority at that.

Vehicle names should be allowed to be longer, but you can already delete vehicles. See the abandonment button. Would be cool though if it just made the joints break instead of outright deleting it. It'd've been cool seeing my first lander in the middle of the crater, covered in dust and three legs broken off.
