On launching the game I had a similar problem with no textures displaying. To fix this on nVidia based cards you need to open the nVidia control panel > Adjust image settings with preview > Let the 3d application decide This worked on Carrier Command and also worked for me in Take on Mars, hope this helps.

The install is available now 1.5gig according to steam :)
