    Ahh, you got me wrong. The dedi is running on a server in a data center, not on my PC!
  2. Hey guys, I bet, I am not the first one starting a talk about this, but this is just weird .. First of all, I got a Dedicated Server running the exile mod on esseker with ryans zombies and so on. All of the players only have small issues with the connection, but its fine, since I am still working on the bandwidth tuning. The point is, the game is absolutely unplayable for me. I got a ping 120+, bandwidth < 150 and a massive desync. It's so bad, that I cant even see the zombies, AI oder any other players running. They are just standing there. The delay between pressing "Open door" and the door actually opening is 30-40+ seconds. Sometimes it never opens. Note: I do not only have these issues on my server and I ruled out the possibility the server being the bad boy here. I am working in a data center, so I just switched the physical server and addionally am now using WinServer 2012 R2 instead of Linux Ubuntu 14.04. The server specs are a little bit worse than before, though the game works perfectly with 60fps+. The only thing is this bad connection, which, as I said, is not only bad on my servers. I did .. .. reinstall the game .. restart my router .. call my internet provider (as usual they basically told me that it is my problem ..) .. reconfigure my router .. reconfigure startup parameters on both, server and client .. test out various basic.cfg configs and ended up with a pretty good one, as the players on my server say If I cant fix it I will probably .. reinstall windows .. test it out with an other PC, though I dont have one and dont see the point so far .. test the connection without a router in between But I really dont want to go for any of the last three points, cause they will take time I really dont have or are just a little dangerous .. I have got a 100 Mbit connection at home and can ping my own servers with about 7-9ms, which is just perfect. Everything works fine, every other game, just everything but Arma 3 Multiplayer. Is there anything you guys can advise me to do? I am really upset about this, since my connection and my PC really should not be the problem .. Is there the possibility the router being crap? Though it used to work some weeks ago, when I last played King of the Hill, which is now unplayable too, which is supporting the point, that my server is not the bad thing here ..     So for example if we dont use the Arma 3 Life cars, which should be ripped out of a game (correct me if I am wrong), there shouldn't be anything, that could get us to court?
  5. Cheer guys, some other people and me are currently working on a new mod. To keep things a little more realistic, we really want to use real cars like a BMW oder an Audi. The thing is, do we have to have the license of the actual car brand, since we are using a product, which is not ours? If yes, is it done by just renaming all cars? Since we got some guys in our project, who are working for IT companies, we really should be safe with what we are doing. A legal violation could cost jobs here.   6. Hey guys, my first post I guess .. yay :D Anyway, I am stuck with a little problem I have with TerrainBuilder and X-Cam. I placed literally thousands of trees with X-Cam. Right after that I wanted to export them for TerrainBuilder. Since I am just the guy for object placement in our Team, I really do not have a clue of TerrainBuilder at all .. okay, maybe a bit basic stuff, but dont tell my anything about folder structure on P: whatever :D I just did what our expert in my team said and TerrainBuilder itself works just fine. The Problem is to import the objects. When I finished exporting, X-Cam creates a text file, in which all information are TB needs. I moved that file to P:/the_project_folder/TeamplateLibs/ and from there I import it. But that never worked because the trees were either way to high or there was just the very top of the pine tree visible, which is quite annoying. I tried exporting the trees with both, relative and absolute height and imported both with both options. Never worked. Quite annoying to be honest.
