    Aircraft Speed

    In modeling aircraft, is there anyway to have the aircraft go it's correct speed ingame? For example: a F/A-18 E/F max speed is 1915 km/h with a range of 2346 km clean, 722 km combat. Can these figures be inputted in to the model? Thanks.

    So you are saying that I can create a 38 miles x 38 miles terrain and than offset each one accordingly, while create a map frame for each terrain.

So far as the functions go, I would suggest you have a basic air/surface/fire radar, and sonar. Also if you can, get an copy of Dangerous Waters for the FFD and MH60R functional views.

    Thanks. Now for the numbers that are displayed, are they in mph or kph. Such as "landing Speed = 185 mph or kph; /// used for AI to approach the runway, the plane should be stable at this speed" Witch one is used the represent the speed in ArmA?

I'm not understanding what you are trying to communicate. ---------- Post added at 23:49 ---------- Previous post was at 23:26 ---------- It seems that a lot of people a are happy with the model of aircraft that BIS has relisted. As for me, I am not. Like someone said earlier in the post, the model are out of place in the time period that they are set in. The A/O-10 by 2035 would have been replaced by the F-35. Let alone the other two models that have been given (force feed) to use. But I understand the reason of the decision. To bring the F-35A/B (No C model due to ArmA core focus on being a land warfare platform) up to date would bring the game closer to the VBS market. So here we are stuck with old, out dated equipment that would not survive a 2035 battle field. But we may get to see this play out in reality if NATO, Russia, and Ukraine conflict get hot. I would like to see a CAST aircraft lineup to reflect where the trend is head now. Not a rehash of a bunch of old out dated aircraft. That's just being lazy. But I still love the platform to death.

    Map limits for A3?

    Yes. I like Battlefield too. A block here, an ally there. I don't even know why BIS produced such an engine to create larger terrains, when all we need was small battlefield Maps. I say this due to the fact that the thread starts out by asking the question "can you create a 700 km by 700 km terrain". Now it has gone to "how small of a map I can make". I understand that some in the community love to reproduce other games in this milsim engine. But I ask, is there a thread for that some where ease?

    Anyone knows why BI has reduced the cell size from 10 (ArmA) to 8 (ArmA II) to 7.5 (ArmA III). What is the reason for doing this?

    At present, the only map making tool is Visitor 3. They are working on releasing Visitor 4 Light as soon as they move through the legalities from transferring the technology from VBS 2/3. So far as for learning to us the app, I find the information about the Visitor app uninformative for those who never structure a map. I would suggest GIS for Dummies to start the basic. Than read the information in the BIS Wiki carefully (at less three times), than start trying to us your skill from there.

    Ok, let say I do a 113 km by 113 km terrain with 30 - 40% ocean. How high of a res will be achievable? And does grass counts as an object? I ask because I wish to cover 70% of the island in grass.

    So, if that is so. How is it done in VBS 2 (being that terrain size is 500 km by 500 km)? Is there a difference in the engine technology between the two?     Hello everyone. My question to the developers and community is, will terrain in ArmA 3 be possible to scale up to 700 km by 700 km (as visitor 3 is capable of doing in VBS 2), but maintain tight visual effects as small terrains like the ones we are playing on now? I ask this due to noticing the extra space when viewing the terrains at present.
