I may have figured this out. Do the basic training in single player and then try multiplayer. I did that last night and Multiplayer worked!

Laptop version is 1.10... Maybe this is the issue.

Gonna add my name to the list. I am having the exact same problem. New Battleye is downloaded and in the folder. Game is 1.11... Have rebooted, run as admin... and still get kicked or invalid cd key messages. I can play on my laptop where I had downloaded the game a few years ago but can't play on my new desktop... very disappointing.
