  1. I'm horrible with technology, so if somebody could give me a step by step lesson on what I should do in terms I can understand, I would be very thankful.
  2. Hi everyone. I received Arma 2, the core game, in the mail yesterday and immediately installed it and tried going on multiplayer. The first thing I noticed was that to the left of every server, there was a red "x". Also, whenever I clicked on a server to join it, I would be met by a message reading "Bad version, server rejected connection". I have not downloaded any mods or addons, so I thought that maybe I simply wasn't able to join because I don't have the latest version. I went on the official Arma 2 website and found the 1.11 patch and downloaded it. This is where it gets confusing (at least to me). That little bar appeared on the bottom of my screen that displayed the item that I was downloading and how much time it had left. Once that was done, I clicked on the folder, and it pulled up some program for burning discs. I've never installed a patch, so I don't know if burning should be involved in this process or what I should do now. I am still having the same difficulties in multiplayer. Thank you so much for taking your time to help a new gamer.
  3. If I knew how to give you a thumbs up or something on these forums, I would. Thank you so much.
  4. Hi everyone. I'm gonna give you guys my full story because I am horrible with technology and a first time poster on this website. So, I have been a long time admirer of the Arma series, but never quite had the money or technology to use it. Recently I obtained a proper computer for playing such a game, and downloaded the free demo. I spent about six months playing the demo and it ran very smoothly and with no issues at all. Last night as I was playing on the demo, the game began to randomly minimize every 15 seconds or so. I was able to easily open it back up, as the icon was still present at the bottom of the screen, and continue playing. It was as though I had simply alt+tabbed out of the game. After this occurring about four or five more times, I promptly gave up on life and went to bed, but slept soundly knowing that I had the full game being delivered to my house from Amazon.com. I received the full game today and VERY excitedly installed it just to find that I was still having the same issue. I set all of my graphics settings as low as possible, but the game would still minimize about every 15 seconds. I didn't know if anyone else has encountered a similar situation where they were able to simply open the game back up and it was not graphics related. Thank you very much for taking your time to help a new gamer.
