What about the 141991 thing. how do you use that number to see where they were talking about?

I just got into this game and while playing the first mission, my teammates would say something like Unknown Man 141991 or something. This is a co-ordinate I'm assuming but how do you figure out where that is in relation to you? Are you supposed to go to the map mid battle and find it? The map doesn't show where you are so that makes it even less easy to use. Is there a way to get them to tell you the direction the enemy is instead? Also the game talks about a hud showing your direction. I am not seeing this but perhaps its because of my difficulty level? I am on the 2nd hardest I believe.
