Campaign patrol missions are completing the second I begin them
devast8ndiscodave posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
I'm replaying the campaign and when I start a patrol mission and it loads into the map the mission is instantly completed and I'm forced back into base. I've no mods running and I'm using the dev branch. -

There are 2 spots available in the livestream, could I get the password? -
A combination of a weak GPU and weak CPU. There's nothing else to it. Upgrade both and this problem will be much less.

using large page memory mapping, for increased performance

User mbk1969 over at Guru3d has created an app to do this tweak. Just download this, run it and add the exe name to the list. This tweak doesn't just work for Arma 3. It works on most games. http://www.mediafire.com/download/aiudd2j3at03j12/LargePage_util.zip -
Yes, works with Win 8/8.1

Download radeonpro, add the Arma exe to the profiles then click on the Sweetfx tab and enable it. You can then import the sweetfx profiles via the button at the bottom. This works with both AMD/Nvidia cards.

Nvidia has new drivers coming out soon that has Mantle like performance gains for DX11. A quote from the article. http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/NVIDIA-Talks-DX12-DX11-Efficiency-Improvements

Early access program starts this year for developers. BI could easily apply and start coding. For your information, Forza was ported to DX12 on the PC running at 60fps on nvidia hardware by a team of 4 people in just 4 months. http://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-reveals-directx-12-for-pc-xbox-one-and-mobile

These were released for Win 8.1 today. They have been modded to work with Win7/8 64bit. Tested with Arma 3 and these are very smooth on my system. Link fixed. https://mega.co.nz/#!lcBghDaR!XdaV-GU2zYesTF68pWEe90cmAkoU8opLq48XeocZnNM

I haven't monitored my memory but the issue you describe is the same problem I'm having. Everytime I play for about an hour or so my FPS just drops to about 15. If I move it gets worse. I can only hope this is a known issue and hope it gets fixed.

Is this picture from real life or arma 3?

Arma 3. You need serious horsepower to run at those settings. -
Any feedback ? They definitely seem alot smoother to me.

Surround sound problems, DEVs take notice
devast8ndiscodave replied to Tonci87's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Yes this can happen, you can still use the soundcard for output and the onboard for mic input. It's just a matter of changing to the correct input in teamspeak etc. The DX is a cheap card, great little card for the the price but still cheap. They are only like $25/£20. The best card for the price at the minute would be the Soundblaster Z oem version. They cost like £50 and are basically the same as the more expensive versions without the emi shielding. I myself upgraded to a Soundblaster Zx from an Auzen Prelude (a very high quality X-Fi) and there is a massive difference in sound. The Z series has redeemed Creative in my eyes, fantastic hardware, software without the bloatedness and there has been several driver updates since launch! -

You obviously never used a soundcard before. First off, Windows 8 has brought back hardware audio with Hardware-Offloaded Audio. Second the difference between onboard and a dedicated sound card is absolutely huge. You can't even compare the difference. I don't buy a soundcard these days for EAX or Hardware sound, I buy it for massive boost in sound quality. So if any person here that truly enjoys playing games then a soundcard is essential, sound is one of the best tools for immersion. -
5.1 / Surround sound not working
devast8ndiscodave replied to Partybooper's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Having issues with the sound, only seems to be a recent thing. Worked before. Now I don't hear any sound from rear or middle.
