OPERATION CROSSBOW A SUCCESS! On 15FEB2014, SEAL Team 8 inserted into Takistan on it's first official operation since activation! Reports of this operation point to a major success for SEAL Team 8. The following is an excerpt from the Operation Crossbow Official After Action Report filed by the ground force commander following the operation. Excerpt from Official After Action Report: While this operation in the Feruz Province was a success, the defense of the province by the Takistan Army against the invading CSAT has been an uphill battle. Most of the Takistan Army is on he full retreat out of the province. In light of losing an Air Force asset, the United States Government has suspended aid to the Takistan Government, though their Government in Exile still requests that the United States resumes aid to their forces via supply drops, it is unlikely given the large number of CSAT forces moving through the area that aid will resume any time soon. PRE-DEPLOYMENT WORKUPS BEGIN! On the 25th of January 2014, SEAL Team 8 has began pre-deployment workups for their upcoming deployment with the 31st Marine Expeditionary unit. Members of SEAL Team 8's command staff have been working tirelessly to plan and train for this upcoming deployment. Naval Special Warfare Group 2 SEAL Team 8 "It pays to be a winner." We take things damn seriously. We take them so seriously that the first part of BUD/S (just like in real life) it's only made of Physical Training, phase known as Physical Conditioning in the real training. We do it not because we want to physically train our characters to make them run faster, which would be stupid, but we do it to ensure recruits are dedicated and they are really willing to remain with the unit. Our motto, which is not the official motto of real-life SEALs, says a lot as well. "It pays to be a winner." Yes. You read it right. It pays to be a winner, it pays to do things right. If you deserve something and you worked hard for it, you will get it. Who are we? SEAL Team 8 is a tactical realism unit for ArmA3. We take things very seriously in this unit, and we do not allow members who are not willing to give us 110% effort. With that being said, deep down we are all gamers, we understand people join to have fun. As such it is also of paramount importance to us, that we provide a fun, and entertaining environment to our members. During our off time, we like to joke around and goof off with one another, and play other games. Bottom line is, SEAL Team 8 is a military simulation unit, or MILSIM unit. We MUST live up to that name by following a specific set of rules that include, but are not limited to: Use of the Chain of Command, full ranks & rate systems, as well as military tactics. One thing in this unit that we allow no slack on is the training of our members. We have a very strict training program, which we require our members to give us 110% and in return we will give them 110%. Being part of SEAL Team 8 is a privelege, you must deserve to join us. What do we do? We take great pride in the way we portray the Navy SEALs. Our goal in creating this unit was to create the most realistic Navy SEAL unit in the ARMA community, this includes training and operations. Speaking of operations, we have a wide range of tasks that may be assigned to us. Ranging from simple reconnaissance operations to counter-insurgency operations. More include but are not limited to: Direct action Special reconnaissance Counter-terrorism Unconventional warfare Hostage rescue Personnel recovery Hydrographic reconnaissance How do we train our members? Our training process is based off of the real life training for Navy SEALs. It has been adapted, and made practical for ARMA. Before being a fully qualified SEAL, you must pass three training programs. Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) Parachute Jump School (PJS) SEAL Qualification Training (SQT) The amount of time required to pass all three training programs is approximately one month. We have made sure the training is not just realistic, but also fun and entertaining. How do I join? If you are willing to join, you have made the right choice. Visit our website at http://seal-eight.com and register an account. You will find the Recruitment Desk, in which there will be threads to read. Make sure you read them, and that you understand them. If you have some doubts and somehow you're not sure yet to join, come on teamspeak by clicking here or using the address server.seal-eight.com.
