In advance... sorry if this is common knowledege, but have searched, and not finding info. I am painfully new... so how can I get the map to show before the player at start of SP mission I am working on? I know how to briefings, etc., but the player seems to show before the map, while I would like to start like A2; map first. Thank You!

How do you get someone to answer a simple question ? Of course there are too many talking at once, but surely this is common knowledge... From my post last week " please direct me to info concerning why I can't seem to play missions w/ All In Arma, only campaigns. It works great for me, but it only lists the campaigns I have DLed, not the SP missions. Thank You - wuff " -

Alw, Thank you for helping us keep in touch w/ something we know. Makes all the difference for me relating to believable. IMHO you do really good work, so have a round on me! BIS should appreciate your effort as well; Thank You! *edit* How did I break my A3? Still no sounds for me. Check 100 times, right version in right place... My money's on pilot error, but can anyone help. So looking forward to the sound fix... -

Indeed, the DEV build is what I am using. Looking forward to your next release, hope that will clear it up. My mission was released too soon, but with each update something else quit working ( code changes ) and I wanted to move on. But would like to make a clean, final concept that focuses on < 30 min. mission when all is working. Also would like to be able to select count and skill of enemy AI, but for now the intent was to use the ambient features that BIS worked on so much in 3, i.e. music and graphics. The modding community goes without saying; it is YOU who make this much more than a "game". Oscar Mike, Master Gunny! -

Al, Really nice work, Thank You. I started with your pre-release and began working on a SP mission, using it as the only weapon for a Blufor in civies. After much frustration of things not working after the latest Beta update, I finally got it working and FoxHound posted it yesterday; Operation Cinderella. So last night I see you had another update, along w/ acc. pack. DL'ed them, put 'em in dir, and added Steam Launch par.s for the acc. pack. So then I see CBA has an update as well. I never play MP, but I DL and update my dir anyway. Lastly I dl "The Way Home" from Eagle Eye, SP mission, which requires @NATO mod. Start A3 Beta, spool up LongWay and ( your weapon pack ) and no sound on firing! No mag change sound either. So since then I have tried every configuration I can think of, even your pre release again ( w/out acc. pack of course ) and not even in the editor can I get the fire sound. It is identical to the suppressor, but on ALL weapons in pack, as if suppressor is on everything, along w/ no mag sound on anything. But... the GL sounds are on, except for no loading sound. So, what did I do?? Need to figure this out so I can debug my mission ( don't want to change weapons, which all BIS are working fine ). Again, Thanks. btw, not running @NATO at all. -
Am trying to make the player for my SP mission spawn dressed in civies ( not a problem ) but it seems as though the map does not have a place to go in any civie uniform. Additem and assign item does not seem to get any of the standard uniform items with the player at start. I need a map on the player so the briefing screen can show the markups before the player spawns ( also, not a problem ) but the player must have a map on him. Has anyone else noticed this, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks Again...:rolleyes:

Thank You, Spayd! I don't understand the logic of this, but it WorkS! I saved as SP mission and you do not have to Hold shift+click at the start. The only problem I have now is that my player ( Blufor ) is dressed in civies, and the map, nor any items ( additem, assignitem ) seem to be an option with uniform such as "U_C_Poloshirt_tricolour", so I must pick the map up from a crate. The briefing does however show @ start, only on a black screen, which is better than not at all. Again, thank you... wuff -
Is there any reference to placing a custom loaded backpack into a box? I know how to place a backpack into any box, but cannot figure out how to put it in with custom gear inside. I want my player to pick up his backpack with a pistol, mags, and health already inside. Currently I am placing all these items into a custom box, but it takes too long to gather all items into backpack; I just want him to grab and go... It hasn't worked for me to assign within box, like you do a unit. Thanks in advance, and apologies if I am in the wrong place, or if this is common knowledge. I HAVE searched... not sure if this is any good to you, started making this when A3 came out - will be updating it as a i go along - hopefully to show how to make a fully working MP game It may have some typos in it, but not the code itself. Been tested and works - It is basic but its a total noob guide from the start https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...0Scripting.pdf This is what is needed by those such as myself that have been all over BIS Wiki, and don't know what to do with it. thdman1511 expressed this very nicely, and to both of you I appreciate it. BIS WIKI is a collection of tools and specifics; you must understand the flowchart first. THANKS again!!! -

Thank you for your reply. Yes, you are correct in the classname requirement; hence me asking this question in the first place. Part of the mission requires player to "pick up" backpack, not just appear with it already on. But again, thanks ... (?) -
