  1. Hi, I opted out but opted back in and copied over the folder that I had been using when I was opted into the development branch, and restarted steam in admin mode, clicked install, it goes to "converting existing game installation" and then allocates disk space and then starts downloading again from nothing/5.3gb even though it's there in the downloading folder. Going to try changing the name of the downloading folder to Arma 3 and put it in the common folder and try to install and see if that works, I don't know why I didn't do this before I guess it just didn't click in my head that "installing" would check the common folder not the downloading folder. So I got a little farther with that, I guess. It checked the common folder, found my existing installation, and now it's downloading from nothing but at speeds I would never achieve with my internet connection (200-500kb/s) and the progress bar is near the end. It also seems that Steam has moved a lot of the files from the common folder to the downloading folder (107410). Is it just checking all the files now? Like I said I would never get this speed with my internet connection. 250kbs maybe, but 500kbs? Never. I'll just leave it running and see what it comes up with. Hopefully this is it. So, I made breakfast and returned to my computer and it is DONE. Finished! Finally "Ready to Play". And yes it works after I start it. Man that was a weird situation but it's all good now. Time to have some Arma 3 fun.
  2. So I bought the Alpha on Steam, downloaded it, it was done and then told me that it was thankful that I had participated in the beta to which I replied with a simple "okay". It seemed to accept this and I went to my games library and it showed that it had started downloading again. So I thought okay maybe it's just a patch. With the exact size as the full game download. So I took the common/downloading/folder and put it in the same place on my other computer and said install. It proceeded to "converting the existing game installation" and then "discovering existing arma 3 installation or whatever" at which point I breathed a sigh of relief. It then started downloading the entire game over again, but I kept checking back on the folder and it seems it's still adding new things even though it's re-downloaded itself about 4 times now? It's downloading again as we speak and I try to start it but now I'm getting an error related to a "PhysX3_x86.dll" not being able to run with my current system.--- Actually says "either not designed to run on windows or contains an error. try reinstalling the program again, etc etc" I'd be all fine and dandy if I was in an area that I had high speed internet access, but downloading a 5.3gb game 4 times has taken forever. (My internet speed is roughly 40-150kb/s because of satellite.) I've tried copying the folder somewhere else and then deleting local game content and then putting it back and trying to install again but it just starts over. If I close steam or turn off my computer (even sleep) and turn it back on it starts over. If I wait for it to finish and I watch it finish and it says thank you for participating and then it starts over. ANDOVERANDOVER Any help would be extremely appreciated. > I've also verified the integrity of the game cache and it says it's all there. > Also, It'd be cool if someone could give me their size on disk of their Arma 3. Mine is 6.92 GB (7,437,520,896 bytes) it seems as though it's not downloading anything anymore, as I let it run for awhile and stopped it and opened my computer again and it's the same size. I checked back on my older folder that I had copied to my desktop earlier before it started again and it's actually larger? 6.92 GB (7,438,131,200 bytes) and has 198 files instead of 140. Sigh. Also realized I had opted into development build, but took that off and now there are less files? But it starts over again still?
