    Double Reload -> bullet in chamber

    I'm surprised that they have not implemented this in Arma already given that it is considered by many to be the most authentic military simulator. Unfortunately, many people don't understand that rounds do not fire from the magazine. They fire from the chamber. Having a round in the chamber already should also make reloads quicker since "charging" the weapon would not be required. I also like the idea of adding a round ejection mechanism. This would help to further illustrate weapon mechanics and help people understand how to clear a weapon properly. Sadly, people have been injured or even killed in the past simply because they did not understand this concept while handling a firearm. Although it is not the responsibility of game developers to teach weapon mechanics, people will "learn" from games anyway. It would be better to have proper weapon mechanics since not only does it look and feel more authentic, it may actually save someone's life!

    Iron Sight Radius

    I've been looking through many of the Arma 3 videos and I just wanted to point out something about the BUIS (Backup Iron Sights). I'm glad they are in the game and pleased to see that they go down when an optic is mounted and pop back up when an optic is dis-mounted. However, there is something about this that could be done better; the actual placement of the iron sights. I'm seeing the rear sight post moved somewhat far forward to the point that it would be physically impossible to pop up with an optic mounted. Although this may not effect optic use in the game, it does not look as authentic. In reality it defeats the point of having a BUIS system mounted. The idea is to be able to use them if your battery dies or your optic fails. Another benefit is that it allows co-witnessing. Neither of these concepts have been implemented in the game, but with proper iron sight placement they could be done if desired. I'd like to point out that realistically, when you mount backup irons, you want to position them as far forward and rearward as possible. This does two things: 1) This would hypothetically allow you to pop the irons up either to co-witness or to use in the event of optic failure. 2) Placing the irons farther apart increases sight radius, which increases accuracy potential. Placing irons further apart increases sight radius distance, which increases accuracy since the sights more accurately show proper sight picture. The Arma 3 "zoom" feature would not be necessary since with the sights in the proper position, you would already have proper sight alignment. I'm not sure if having a longer sight radius will actually effect accuracy in the game, but since Arma 3 makes good use of different firing positions and even implements breathing and fatigue into effect, I think that it is very possible. Most of us will want to use optics, but since Arma 3 also uses a fatigue system, one could decide to discard the optics to carry less weight and fatigue less.
