    Different story when you're carrying a bergen, AT launcher or GPMG.

    I asked my brother with actual military experience about this, his response. "Well yea, if you have a vest and rifle you could hop over things and climb, carrying a full load is a different story. Best way me and the lads found getting over cattle gates or walls was to climb up and shift your weight so you fell over and got up on the other side. Looked stupid, but took half the time of climbing. No way you could jump with a full load."

    Problem with games is that jumping is more complex then a single action repeated every time you press a button in a game. In real life you take into account distance, velocity, height and the landing (I.E. will I fall and look like a tit) in a moment.

    ya thats true but not every soldier wears a misslie launcher. And if so, they could reduce some movements thats true, too. But I just wanted to show that a little hop is possible too even with a weapon and vest and all the things. Ya I fully agree that if your fully equipped, you couldnt move your ass up. But there are also different squads for. Aussault men, Grenadier, Sniper, Repair men etc. What I try to say is. Your not always fully equipped. =)

    Ive only seen him vault and climb, everyone wants that, you don't need to argue in favour of it. :rolleyes:

    And No! hes jumping aswell if you cant see that, then you didnt watch the full video... Jump is: if you dont touch the bottom anymore. And in this vid I can see him jumping from obstacle to obstacle! they are first jumping to climb then a wall, or Jumping the obstacles down. ppl just dont fall from anything down. YOU JUMP DOWN remember that. And btw vault, jump its for me the same thing... if I reach my goal it doesnt matter what its called.

    look at this this soldier, he has a full gear and he can still handle a jump, improved climbing vaulting etc.. dont tell me again, its not possible, you have no idea of what soldiers have to do and yea i know its hard.... First go and look for some information before you post smth wrong....

    I agree wholeheartedly with Phoboss, this isn't abusive jumping just vaulting over a low fence.

    Watch the video above, give it a few seconds but you'll see it's a small vault, you have to be running (ie weapon is down).

    I've had to remove the beggining of the URL as I'm too new to post links :(

    thats fantastic!!!! yea i was looking for smth like that and now they have to implemend climbing trough windows like in BF3 btw i know this is a false thread for it but a parashute would be awesome too, because if some doesnt know how to fly and your flying with him. u have no chance to get out... i think its a bit fail xD

    something happened to me today.... and now i hate vaulting i want to jump..... some crazy were driving arround and i was without ammu... and i hid infrot of a destroyed house and they saw me and tried to run over me... and i couldn't escape to left either to right because of that stupid vault... the walls left and right were just weight high not even smaller and i COULDNT JUMP away and the over run me.... so ridiculous.... i even hadnt a chance to get away... so want smth like bf3.... :mad:

    If I have to jump to climb or jump to get to the position its not a vault. Im sure we want the same thing but calling it a vault just for the sake of not calling it jumping is pointless.

    At first i was against jumping being implemented into Arma 3, but then i took a step back and thought about everything else that differs between Arma games and the likes of COD and Battlefield. The difference is of course simple! Arma is a mil sim that requires thought, careful tactics and considerable skill, when compared to COD and BF3 which are quite simply run of the mill arcade games with little thought or tactics used and require very little to no skill at all to play - Basically a constant running about and shoot game with no thought for stealth, situation awareness, using adequate cover and tactical planning.

    If you used little thought or poor tactics in Arma your dead, its that simple, whether its the Ai or a Player that spots you, your still going to be dead as little thought and poor tactics gives the AI or the opposing Player a huge advantage over you. Even if you jumped about like a sex starved rabbit, your still going to be dead in Arma. This is what COD and BF3 Plays will do, they will run around thinking they can play Arma like they do COD and BF3 and they will try bunny hopping about but still end up dead a hell of a lot more than they would in COD or BF3.

    So really those that try to Play Arma 3 like they play COD and BF3 will end up having to adapt to survive or die, or they will simply give up on the game out of frustration born by their lack of skill in game. Leaving it to those of us that love Arma and would use the jump feature as its meant to be used, to clear fence and objects of no higher than waist height. For higher objects we need a climb animation so we can climb over walls like real soldiers do.

    Perhaps to satisfy those here that are skeptical the jump feature should only be available for when you have a waist high object (fence/rock/barrels etc) directly in front of you. Similar to collision detection of sorts. Of course i don't know if that would be possible or how long it would take to implement.

    Im totally agree with you :) my words!!! I hope they see the effort we take to show them what we are thinking and seeing!

    Are you all r.....s? Sry but i have to ask... how u want to climb trough windows?? How u want to rush forward if u want to suprise your enemy ?run 1 km around the blocks? How u want to get to higher biuldings to snipe mutiple enemys down? Ahh i got it.. with the simple vault option right .. i cant understand your opinion.. if they want to jump then let em do.. if u dont want to jump the let it be and dont jump... and if the jumper is annoying u with bhops then just shoot them down... hoo my good so much whiner here... at least they could improve smth to do all these thing i dont need jump too but if they implemend it i have no probs with it..

    This is a Military SIMULATION and u have to climb over things and jump aswell. U cant afford sometimes just to press V to pass a little obstacle. Sometimes its anoying because 1. the animation S...ks and 2. its basic for the military to jump and climb over things. e.g, just look at the army, they doing parkour to pass the obstacles infront of them and all the stuff to become a soldier. there u have it! well if a game says its a Simulation, so i would except from a game like this to have this 2 things. and in my opinion just to press "V" is a lame excuse... because its soooo sloowww..:j:
