Nou, just a quick thought. We've moved to TFAR as the A3 Acre hack was causing us some issues... We're really looking forward to moving back to ACRE. BUT please tell me you have a solution for the "saved radio id's" issue. I.e. if I use Virtual Armory or Lea to save my loadout including a radio. It saves the ID which could conflict with another player's ID. We were thinking it might be an idea to creat ID's based on a Hashed User id ? I.e. my player id in game Lt. Serjames is somehow configured into a unique id that then can stay with the radio with no fear of miss-use.... Anyway - I assume you've got that licked.. SJ -
Yes.... but are they spawned on the server... or on Clients ? What does the script say ? If it's server then you only need it on the server. If it's Client based then yes, you will need all players to run it... SJ

Ah that's a shame... Could it not simply be integrated as an ACRE Realism module you would place down on the map... I always thought the ability to be shouting to your mates target locations and not attract Ai fire was super un-realistic. SJ -

It also breaks the Opfor Radio protocols, so you won't hear them shouting orders... bit of an immersion breaker Better than all the contact reports I suppose but there must be a way to JUST stop those and not other Radio sounds? SJ

Hmm agreed that the Gearbox noise does come through loudly on that clip, but driving it, I've done it :) you just hear engine... weird.. Perhaps the mike is more sensitive to the whine ? or as you say frequency response etc SJ

They prevent other weapons mods from being audible so if you were running Erics pack or the USAF pack and say Trixies weapons, Eric's weapons over-write something in the sound config for the second pack. So if your mate picks up an L85 you won't be able to hear it. JFYI.... not sure why you need a weapons pack as part of an Aircraft pack anyway... would you be able to make the units+guns as an optional PBO ? :-) SJ

Good work, however in my opinion, much too much gear noise... Tanks and armour make much more "Roar" noise than that; from their exhaust... Gearbox sound is very much secondary... Unless you've got your ear right against the Gearbox ? How do I know ? I've Driven Chieftains, Abbots SPGs, FV432's etc.... All 70's and 80's Kit LOADS of awesome engine noise and Air-induction noise. Nothing like that Turbo Nissan I guarantee. Remember on a Car the Transmission and Gear train is right under the passenger cabin in most cases so you will hear a lot more meshing. Tanks, sound much more like diesel locomotives... than race cars :-) SJ

Sounds like a typical service provider response... We run three permanent Dedicated servers, 24/7, all with lots of mods... None of them display the crashes you are experiencing. All have bCombat running quite happily. Check your server logs... they are the best place to see what is happening. SJ -

Hmm, conscious that the EricJ weapon pack is well known to cause loss of sounds when installed - we have tried to resolve it by working on the config with him but to no avail.. (we love the guns btw ) just can't use it as it breaks all our other sounds.. JFYI SJ

hmm, I've downloaded R17. Put your Executable Jar into the root of the bCombat folder but when i run it (which has to be right click/Open with/ Java etc) the fields all say "ERR" Sorry I've not been following this closely so I assume I'm not the first lol It seems to work when It's run from with the Executable folder I downloaded from the Github... not sure that it actually edits the right Config then though. only the one in the Executable folder I assume so I copied it to the main folder and.... no go. Amazes me people don't know that ACRE can do all these things.... Stereo by radio has been available for years mate :-) Underwater radios, now they are cool - not that you'll get THIS Marine to stick his head underwater...lol SJ -
