You can try getting a Alpha Lite key from anyone who bought Arma 3. Everyone got 3 Steam invites which can be given to anyone for free. Alpha Lite gives you access to some short showcast demo, and there's a short single player mission. It was well scripted, and although it was short, it should give you an idea of what its like to play single player mission, and there will be many full single player mission in the final release. I bought Arma 3 to play alone too. I don't like playing multiplayer. :p

Community interest in Rearmed for ArmA 3 (integration of A2 and OA content with A3)
Hornet replied to OMAC's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I would. DLC is not evil or a crime. If I feel the content is worth the price, and its not something that was withheld from the game to be sold separately (ie. day 1 DLC) I would buy it. -
ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
Hornet replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Would be great if there's a mod that brings back the more traditional weapons like M4, M16, MP5, P90 :D Thanks -
Arma 3 (2040) will there be DLCs based on 2000/2010?
Hornet replied to Danlord's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Yeah, I understand its not certain at this point. But I guess they are seriously considering it if they decided to state it there. -
Why is it so? :(

Didn't the Supporter Package mentioned that those who bought it will be entitled to any DLC in the future, and it specifically state that it does not include any expansion pack. So this means the DLC it refers to is DLC, and not expansions. I have no problem with it by the way. Just pointing out that there will probably be DLC in ARMA 3. -
Technically you are right, more processing power would allow more advance AI system. But the problem with that is if the game relies on cloud computing to run, then you need to be connected to the servers all the time to play the game. If you have some internet problems, or the server have some problems, your game is dead. This is the problem with Simcity right now. The game relies on the servers and when the servers get cranky, people are not able to play the game at all. Its really annoying.

That would kill the gaming experience because people who plays military sim expect to have characteristic that represents current reality, such as bullet drop and so on. A bullet that can home in on the target will mean anyone can shot easily, just let the computer device do everything. Where's the fun in that. Is this the future? Perhaps, we don't know. But until the future gets here, its sci-fi. -
Steam workshop allows auto update so anytime the author have an update, it can be automatically pushed to the user without requiring the user to manually check back a site for updates Steam workshop is free too.

Can't decide to get the basic version on Steam or the Digital Deluxe  I'm new to this series, so I was wondering if its worth it to spend extra and get the digital guide. Thanks

Can someone tell me why you'd make a game of 2013 very CPU heavy?
Hornet replied to scaramoosh's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Why would anyone want to use GPU's cycle to do AI and game mechanics when it already has its hands full with graphics rendering. I wish I could afford a card faster than my GTX 680 to render the graphics even better, it's already struggling with the advance graphics in this game. Last thing I need is to take away its resources to do other stuff that can be done on a general purpose processor. There's no magic in this. There's a finite processing capabilities in a GPU, if you use them for other stuff, then who's going to do the graphics rendering.
