Since it wasn't prevented by the authorities, it's as good as official. Even if the initial Russian propaganda was over the top, Ukraine is actually trying to make it true.

Weather the country is democratic or authoritarian is irrelevant. The US is a pseudo democratic country anyway. The system is built to make you believe you have the power to influence politics. This is achieved through various forms of elections during education, while in fact those with mony that lobby senators are the ones pulling the strings. You're making a generalisation error. You read about the tradition, so you assume that it's like that everywhere all the time. Also in the case of the US, weather the army is professional is also irrelevant. A payed soldier is as capable of commiting abuse as the conscript. Again history is full of it. But maybe the worse is fighting for your country in a war you did not start, for a cause you might not believe in, and then getting denyed healthcare and support by the country you risked life and limb for. They used you, you are not needed anymore.

Yes Crimea is an important strategic location, but it doesn't give Russia more power to attack Ukraine than it already had. If Russia wanted Ukraine Kiev would be gone in a matter of days. And yes I do want to compare Russian treatment of soldiers to the one of the US. Remember, we're talking about state - veteran relations, not soldier - soldier relations. If you wan't soldier abuse, US miltary history is full of it. Just remember Vietnam. Are you saying that western soldiers never abused anyone?
-
Why would the power to rise hell be a benefit? He already had it, and he didn't really gain much power from invading Crimea. And the treatment of war veterans in the US is an amazing topic to talk about. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/mar/26/us-veterans-inadequate-care-war

Turning kids into soldiers is not confined to DPR, it is also present in Ukraine. And there were Russians who came to fight in ex Yu, but Russia wasn't in anyway involved. How could it be when we're sorounded by pro west countries on all sides. ---------- Post added at 20:56 ---------- Previous post was at 20:55 ---------- Just what are those photos supose to represent?
-
Has the attack on Ukrainian positions been confirmed, or is it just artillery fire? The OSCE does not mention an assault, just some movement inside DPR.
-
It's also possible that they didn't find what they were looking for. I believe the investigators specifically looked for proof of Russian involvement in the downing. Perhaps the results were inconclusive.
-
Well yeah... But regarding the MH17, you can't really hear anything from official sources anymore, and back when you could, it was just blaming each other, and the louder you yell, the more convincing your angle looks.
-
I was refering to the investigation, not the actual downing. And noone really knows what happened, or who did it, so let's not jump to conclusion.

The sad truth is that nobody really cares anymore. The event was just used for propaganda on both sides, and once it cooled down, everyone moved on. Much like a recent helicopter crash here in Serbia.

Serbian Armed Forces (SAF) [v0.90]

Now presenting the new model and texture of the M-97 PASGT type helmet. This is the covered version with Woodland camo on the left, and M-10 on the right. -
Do you think that Coca Cola is all about fair play? Think hpw many little companies it destroyed before it became what it is now. There is corruption in state held firms off course, but you'd be a fool to believe that there's none in the private companies of capitalism.
-
Wait, can't you see that it is the liberal capitalism that's giving coorporations the possibility to expand. Would Coca Cola be where it is now without it? It is in the interest of coorporations to expand into Ukraine, and cootporations lobby the US senat which then sells the "fighting for freedom" bullshit, when in fact the olygarchs are thriving. That is how they turn war into profit, and that's why the US and NATO share some guilt in starting this war. They have become almost a private army. Thats pseudo freedom. The liberal capitalism that your describing is just an illusion much like true communism. In my opinion the market should be social, and state controlled, in order to give local smaller buisnisses a fighting chance.
-
I agree with the coorporation part. It's what I was talking about when I mentioned liberal capitalism.

In this picture you can see the shorten carbine version of the Zastava M21 rifle, with the folded stock and a picatinny rail sidemount. Model and texture by me. -

Here's the newest in the series of our new high quality weapons. This is the Zastava M-21 rifle designed to replace the workhorse of the Serbian army - the M-70. The rifle uses the 5.56 NATO round, and there will be a couple of versions, for example 2 shortened versions, with and without the stock folded, with and without the removable picatinny rail side mount, and a couple of the newer versions featuring the full picatinny rail system. This one in the picture is a M-21A. The model and the texture were done by me, and the meshes, textures and UVs were done after studying RHS weapons, so some credit goes to them too. ;) -
Again, I was saying that we shouldn't punish someone based on their nationality as Tonci said that we should. This was a rethorical question implying that you can not punish Serbians for something some soldiers may or may not have done. I'm not saying that Croats as a whole should be punished.

Ok. You can delete the offtopic.

Don't know if you have red this topic in the past, but anyone who ever posted has said something sarcastic at one point or another, especially regarding humanitarian aid. I really don't see how my sarcasm is inappropriate and "you should have been bombed because you're genocidal by nature" is.
-
You have got to be kidding me. Sarcastic nature is not appropriate now? How come it's not appropriate only when I use it?
-
You're now purposely twisting my words. I said it sarcastically. I meant that you can't punish people for something someone else did a long time ago. And Serbia contributed greatly to the fight against fascism, it carried the fight in Yugoslavia and sustained the most casualties, with Belgrade, and other towns completely destroyed, while Zagreb for example was intact. Am I going to get an infraction because my views differ from yours? For people who say they are for freedom of speech you sure don't act like it. If you're just looking for a bunch of yesmen then you should have locked the thread long time ago.
-
Nope, that's propaganda stuff. You have a good documentary that oxmox posted some time ago.

Wait, so if there is no UN resolution condemning Ukraine that means that they didn't do the same thing we did? Let me draw a parallel for you. In '98 a rebellion starts in Serbias southern province (similar to the problems Macedonia is having right now). The rebellion is supported by a neighbouring country. Police is sent to deal with destructive behavior. The neighbouring country sends over a 1000 terrorists (not soldiers, terrorists, trained to terrorize the Serbain majority villages). The army is sent to aid the police and secure the villages attacked by armed militias. Serbia gets a warning and an order to fall back. We continue the operations against foreign terrorist forces to protect what remains of the Serbian population. We get bombed without UN consent. We fall back, KFOR comes in, Serbs attacked on the streets and churches burned. In 2014 Russians in Ukraine start rebelling. The rebbelion is supported by a neighbouring country. Police tries to deal with it. The neighbouring country sends soldiers to aid the rebellion. The UA starts an attack on Russian rebels. And now Russia gets a warning (if we follow the previous logic it should have been Ukraine) and an order to fall back. Ukraine continues the operations against the Russian rebels... See how similar it is, and the only difference is that NATO and EU now support the opposite side.
