AI driving isn't the best at times still but recently a mod got released which made it a lot better called VCOM AI Driving Mod. It reacts to stuff being in the road if you mean point A to point B. If you mean in combat it's still kinda bad and often drives in illogical directions, again fixed with mods.

Arma is a game where it offers both sets of content, gamemodes like King of the Hill often show a faster pace more run and gun style of play due to the close combat and focus on killing and pushing people out of the zone. Whereas gamemodes like invade and annex focus on movement and grander strategy using far greater areas and takes a more serious approach, if you decide to join a milsim unit you would find one of the most serious environments where there usually is a focus on teamplay, movement and co-ordination. Most of it does depend on who you choose to play with, King of the Hill can become quite tactical and slower paced when working as a team and moving together and Invade and annex can become run and gun like when people have a rush mentaility. The problem is that it's hard to tell what you mean by serious, because if your looking for light hearted but teamwork based gameplay then Invade and annex is best for you, but if you expect more you have to join a group.

I may play with mods that strip so much of the idea of "health" but doesn't it strip away a little bit of you don't know how close you're to death. It seems a very arcade approach to Arma since it one of the leading military simulators Seems very mixed opinions on poll. I have to say in real life you may not know your exact limits you have a very good idea of how tired out you're and how close you are from just a tad out of breath to almost collapsing. I feel that it works for all games purposes it's a good idea as fatigue isn't exactly the indicated in the best way.

I see what you mean, because I think one of the biggest splits will be between AGM , CSE , ACE 3 in mods even though they're now really just ACE 3 and then some content mods like RHS Escalation and vanilla content. I had tried to make some mission but came to the conclusion that making balanced and fun missions is rather complicated, escpically on keeping it interesting because of if the missions are too similar then they get a bit tedious. I hadn't thought of this and it isn't a bad idea, however I don't know really how well clans have taken this new gamemode but it certainly keeps a competitive environment which was shown in the chart Bohemia released which showed the general flow of the game http://dev.arma3.com/assets/img/post/images/PhaseFlow.jpg (122 kB) It would be nice to be adapted to ACE 3 or something because I think the revive feature breaks the whole mil-sim competitive part to it as loses wouldn't seem that bad.

A more competitive environment for Arma 3 As of soon (if not now when you read this) ACE 3 will be released and offer a new level of realism that got me thinking, there were clan matches as such in Arma 2 and some in Arma 3 but most communities became quite isolated and kept things quite internal as I have noticed (correct if I'm wrong) and it would be good to see maybe not too competitive but an environment for easy settting up of games for clans as such. There would however be problems as who would be responsible for creating well balanced missions and allowing tactics and skill of the team to be the main factor that determines wins than a mission having the problem of being lopped sided and who would be responsible for setting up a service that would allow easy access to servers that would record stats of operations and linking servers so it would get these stats. I would like input on what people think of this and any questions would be nice. ---------- Post added at 21:31 ---------- Previous post was at 21:25 ---------- I mean this in the sense of communities that play without public servers and focus on a more selected team and filtering people, which I don't have a problem with. I'm more talking about the communities then play against AI or play PVP internally with this team.

Consider The Consequences Before Being A Dick On A Server
Deadly Dodo replied to infiltrator_2k's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I see this as a huge problem and see what your saying and the other side needs to be recognized as there is the opposite problem, as Arma players we all would've had to start from somewhere like I, I only started playing just as the Arma 3 Alpha started and got the supporter edition after trying Arma 2 (only like a couple of hours) on a friends PC, this means I hadn't had the greatest experience and am not a veteran of the series but I've seen awful issues with people getting kicked and banned from servers for just being new to the game, after playing 200+ Hours I still don't know all the ins and outs, I've done things like run into a tree in helicopter by accident or knocked a wheel on a rock and broke the wheel meaning we were stuck by accident and I was lectured on how I was trolling the server and I've seen it happened to a couple of my friends. So if you have a bunch of elitist veterans on a couple of servers saying that you are a troll and get globally banned how are you going to argue that several people who are elitists that there ban is wrong since your quote was, Also how would you check that their reason was valid, as your just working off the number of people banning them and not any hard evidence and reliable sources, your system can be flawed by closely linked servers that just ban someone on different dates so that it would be on "different occasions" . And when they'd make an appeal it is denied because 3 servers didn't like them, and this could all source from someone being just new to the game. Lastly I'd like to note you didn't answer properly answer the crucial question Ratszo made, "And if someone was on your banlist from god-knows-where, how would they appeal? Is teamspeak up? Is there a forum to post an appeal on?" How would one appeal, because you seem to be hell-bent on banning people and not actually looking at the potential catastrophe your system would do to server population, as Darkrunner said Servers would have lowered population as people would start getting banned so frequently and other would be unable to access it who would want to play on those servers where the community becomes so limited as people have been banned so unjustly and it doesn't seem worth the hassle to appeal than just go play on a server with a more controlled ban list limited to that server which is more friendly and open armed, it seems your trying to create a pubic community that is very isolated.
