Personally, I think they look fine. I consider Opfor at this point to be on a level playing field with Blufor, and to some, it's a bad thing, but to others like me, I think it's a refreshing new challenge for gameplay sake. I'm sure they'll be some sort of Independent Guerilla force coming in either the Beta or Full game. Just wait and see.

^Smurf's got it. Once again, it's an Alpha and as Jay Crowe said in the interview, the feature is nowhere near being complete. He's even admitted it's a little stupid but I'm sure that with time, it will be fixed in a very balanced and practical way.

Check my sig for my specs. I'm running at what I would say is an acceptable level of performance. I average mostly around 40-45 FPS with dips to the low 30s. Optimizations could definitely be done, but it seems like the levels of performance problems are different based certain rigs. Some people are running fine and others aren't. Bohemia will simply have to sort this all out, once again, it's an Alpha, just wait and see.

Anybody else seen snakes opening doors?
DShKM replied to NeZz_DK's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Tactical snakes, that has got to be one of the coolest bugs I've ever seen. -
Yes, Bohemia, I have to say, you've truly outdone yourself this time. Being that your best release yet is in an Alpha stage is already outstanding and I can't wait to see where you guys will be going in the coming months as we roll closer to the official launch day. The movement mechanics are fantastic and the weapons feel wonderful. Keep it up guys, don't let us down!

Great to see you're already into ArmA 3 SaOk! I've always enjoyed your missions and campaigns! :) -
CO_02 Skirmish at Marina Bay by SilentAce07
DShKM replied to Silentace07's topic in ARMA 3 - USER MISSIONS
Very nice, some of our Unit's members have picked up A3 and we'll be sure to check it out soon. Thanks for the mission! -
Lol Beagle, you're telling me I have to set up a joystick (which I do) to be able to have an FOV slider? Once again, not very practical. But oh well, it's better than nothing right?

Spot the soldier - YAY CAMOUFLAGE! (at distance)
DShKM replied to NordKindchen's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Finally, a good implementation of camouflaging at long distances. ArmA 3 is getting better and better the more I play it. -
I completely agree, an FOV slider is a necessity for ArmA 3. I have my FOV at 88 in ArmA 2 and can barely play without it. It's not like it's something difficult to implement. Configuring a text file is not very practical and no noob friendly either.

They haven't implemented the TOH flight system yet, however, anyone notice how that Ka-60 seems to flight like a plane after certain speeds. I felt like I could have done a dogfight with a jet and put up a fight.

Bohemia, I think you need to fix something... Or not, it's pretty hilarious. [Video]

Oh ArmA, there's always something in you to make me smile. God bless Bohemia! -
What's the first thing you're going to do on Alpha?
DShKM replied to zukas3's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Still going for my plan of taking my little stroll around the island. However, knowing how easily tempted I can be, I'll probably end up doing something completely different when game time comes. Bring it Bohemia, I got enough munchies to screw around for a life time. -
Exactly, the RV engine calculates everything that is going on at a specific time anywhere in your play zone. It ranges from AI moving around the map, the grass, trees, physics everything is being calculated over and over again. I'm sure that with DX11, multithreading and some nicely written code, the game will run noticeably better than ArmA 2. No one can say for sure, however, you can find out tomorrow.

What computing system do you have for the Arma 3 Beta?
DShKM replied to Yett71's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Just another 15 some hours. I'm sure it'll be interesting to see how far we have to go to bring our PCs to their knees (literally) in front of this sure to be magnificent beauty of a game. So pumped for tomorrow, I don't think I've ever been this anxious! -
How to prepare steam to install Arma3 on your ssd
DShKM replied to Hud Dorph's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I was wondering if Steam had added this option. I'll make sure to do that tomorrow. -
A modder has done ScopeFX for ArmA 2. It's not exactly what you're looking for when you say "Realistic optics" but it's better than nothing. It's definitely a shame that as a sim, ArmA doesn't have this feature yet, but with the new modding possibilities of the RV4 engine, I'm something can be done about that.

What's the first thing you're going to do on Alpha?
DShKM replied to zukas3's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Ah yes, Physx, finally ArmA is moving from imagi-physics to the real world. In a way, ArmA will have lost some of it's charm but now chases will be a lot more interesting. I've decided as a main plan on Tuesday, to first, fine tune my GFX settings, then move on to doing a little stroll around the island with my friend and check out all the nice secrets hidden around the island. Also have to start thinking about making a few missions for when our unit moves over to here. -
What computing system do you have for the Arma 3 Beta?
DShKM replied to Yett71's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Either that's a typo, you're completely insane, or just trolling, take your pick, you'll have no problem running A3 with that rig. -
Putting Stratis into perspective on size.
DShKM replied to rehtus777's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I don't think anything is going to be able to beat the immersion of taking a peaceful stroll around Altis or Stratis. That's all I'm doing on Tuesday, find my sweet-spot for GFX settings and go for a little adventure. -
What computing system do you have for the Arma 3 Beta?
DShKM replied to Yett71's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Just want to let you know that ArmA 3's max view distance is 20 km. It's going to take at least 2-3 Titans, 2 GTX 690s, 2 7990 Ares, anyway, it's going to take more than 1 670 to get more than 30 FPS at a 20 km view distance. I settle on 3.5 km usually, you don't really need more than that on the ground. -
Will the alpha be available in all countries?
DShKM replied to Incognito84's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
So far, the only country that has banned ArmA 3 is Iran and that's because they're being portrayed as the baddies. I don't think the game will be banned or unavailable anywhere else otherwise, it would have been mentioned by now.
