Offline mode works perfectly fine for me if i close it, restart it, etc. .. also for earlier posts They don't say "for no reason". so.... they can't terminate people for no good reason They won't give refunds if you do this: for a violation of this Agreement or improper or illegal activity not just in general, otherwise they would have to say it in the agreement.

Good. It cuts profit from this company when you give games to someone else. There is already enough piracy and everything going around and this just adds the icing to the cake. Gotta watch them steam sales too! I got slapped in the face because I purchased skyrim at another place within the month it came out and then shortly after it was on a steam sale for $30. Although 90% of the time the best places is amazon for me.

After watching the videos I didn't care where the game/simulator was going. Having it on steam was a bonus for me since I use steam but either way I was gonna be all over Arma 3. Voted: YES

See you target me as a fanboy... There is no hate here at all and is full discussion. I just hate it when people stay soo old school that they won't adapt to change and all they do is complain and complain and EVERY time something like this happens people still buy the game anyways and know it's everything they wanted then go *huff puff*.. * "well... i guess it isn't too bad" You instantly turn this way out of proportion. Accept change, give it a try, adapt. This company knows what is best and if you aren't willing to trust them then you aren't loyal.

Actually I've noticed the amount of severs on Arma 2 increase since DayZ has been out.. and a lot of people have said that after trying dayz they tried the actual game and it's really fun. Steam users now know about this game more (i knew about it a long time ago but my computer was a potato) they will invest their time and especially since people are getting sick of the whole COD clones, and everything else they want to try something new. Anyone who isn't willing to give steam a try is a bit ignorant and stubborn but I guess it's out of paranoia. I'm in no way trying to target anyone but Steam doesn't take your identity, investment, or privacy away from you at all nor does it ever send emails saying "BUY THIS!!". It's just that first thing you get when you double click your .exe file and you see the "Launch Game" button... Same thing Steam is so big it's not going anywhere either.. I have had games in the past and i misplaced them and had hardware failures and guess what now i dont have those games but since I've used steam my games can always be downloaded and due to their cloud i cant lose my saved games either and that part is by choice by the way. I am not a steam fanyboy or anything but I do use it a lot since I have friends on their and it's convenient and safe.

You sir... I like As far as I know i wouldn't even care if this was on anything as I just want to play the game. Besides sometimes the devs need to take a stand and tell you what's gonna happen because EVERY time i see the opposite happen things go down hill and the BIS is still listening to the community and adding things you want to make you happy. People just need to chill out and remember if it wasn't for BIS there would be no Arma series in the first place so you have absolutely no right to complain and you are not forced to buy the game either, if you were really that upset you'd leave already. You are gonna buy the game and realize, hey this isn't so bad after all. Steam is a huge community and so the game won't have any fewer players or servers than it would completely off of steam and if anything it will have a mass amount more.

There was a choice and they said they had to if they were going to release in 2013. Lets break this down with benefits: - Faster development - Simpler Updates - Smaller updates - Can't lose your game - Steam = more players (steam being the biggest and the best and as soon as this game shows on the front page people will buy) - The game can be released in 2013 - Making updates or changes to the game will be faster, no middleman or anything to slow anything down - More sales using steam = more efficient funds for development, bug fixes, patches and future games - Steam is easy to use and saves you tons of shortcuts on your main screen - Easy to stay in touch with friends - Share screenshots of the game - Steam overlay - etc. , etc. The game will be released when it is ready, you guys do realize they won't rush this and it simply takes a lot more work to deal with multiple distributors. That's what's increasing their time with releasing the game and after that even adding content/patches to the game. The one single very tiny flaw is that you need internet. Oh no what shall I ever do now!?!? Buying internet might be a start? It's 2013 and you don't have internet? Get some Modding: This part still involves B.I. and any permissions or how easy it will be will most likely be completely up to them. Much like skyrim which REQUIRES steam it's just as easy to mod as any other game.

By the time steam would shut down, you'd never have nay intention of playing this game by then. If you have a disk it can break and you now need to re-buy the game in order to play again if anything happens to your computer files, selling it... come on now you know for a fact games these days are going away from the whole (give your game away/let other barrow). Look at the positive! In the case of having steam this couldnt and wouldn't happen as your game can ALWAYS be downloaded again and with the cloud storage you can always have your saved data as well. Also steam is the one that is actually going toward the gaming community and following it as you all know windows is going down the crapper and they are making support for linux now which we all know may be the future OS with how things are looking. Steams not going anywhere and with it's popularity this game will only grow. Some people on here might not play because of this but I assure you everyone will be replaced in a matter of seconds once this game appears as purchasable. +1 Very true

These days if you don't have internet then why are you playing on a computer? Secondly... look at this.. Kinda solves not wanting updates?

Basically the first time you run steam for the game you MUST have access to the internet and then you can turn it onto offline mode. Steam is actually very convenient if you give it a try and i used to dislike it 2 years ago but now I use it constantly.

There is nothing to worry about. Steam is the best source for getting games and they have been making mods easier to use than ever before. They will probably have this game put into the workshop section which would allow you to use a mod with a single click and it would automatically update for you too :) They will make it happen no worries. Also you can mod outside of steam still.. When I want better mods for skyrim I just go to nexus and use their stuff and everything still works just fine with 0 issues.
