Joining Arma 2 Free Server with Arma 2 & Operation Arrowhead?

Hi, I have Arma 2 & Operation Arrowhead and wanted to host Arma 2 on my dedicated server. The only way I could do it was to install the free version on my server - however I cannot find it on my A2OA client (I see people are joining the server).. is it not possible to join the free version with A2OA? If not do I need to buy another copy just to host?
