Getting Decent FPS On DayZ, But Terrible FPS on OA Vanilla (And Wastelands)
Twiisstt posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey, When I first installed OA, I noticed the frames on it online were bad, I would get a fixed fps of 20, even when I looked directly in the sky. This seems odd, because on DayZ I get an average of 40fps on it, and 80+ when looking in the sky and at the coast. I've tried different servers online, but it all seems to be the same, I haven't got VSync on; infact, all of my settings are on the lowest, because my 1080p monitor makes everything look bearable. I can't find a solution to this, and the main reason I am posting this, is because I'm really wanting to get into Wasteland, and it makes it hard to drive/shoot when you have a firm 20fps. Is it worth re-installing OA? Perhaps I've altered some files which has effected the gameplay online. Also, please note that although I don't play on Singleplayer, the frames seem pretty good on there. Thanks in advance! -

cheers man :) If i was to upgrade my CPU, would an i5 be alright? i would prefer something thats relatively future-proof, but an i7 is too expensive for my liking. I'll also need to get a new motherboard I imagine, so are there any anyone could recommend me? -

I just tried the Singleplayer mission editor, added a few things, and I get around 60fps on there. I've tried some different missions online, but literally all of them consist of fixed frame-rate of 20. Could anyone explain why it is fixed on it? That's my main concern. I'd love to try re-installing the game, but I'm afraid I'll lost my DayZ characters :S -

ahh okay, my system specs are as followed: Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 Intel Core 2 Quad CPU 2.40GHz Hope this helps a bit :) just take into account that even when I look at the ground, i still get a fixed framrate of 20, in conparison to when i do it in DayZ, I will get around 80+ frames when looking at the floor. Thanks again :)
