We've indeed been quiet, sorry! A combination of time-consuming personal life and time-consuming modding let us to not say anything for a while. We're still active on Twitter though (http://twitter.com/2017mod). We will be posting more stuff very soon though! You can expect some videos and pictures of development. -

Well, we will be going into closed alpha (only with our testing team) really soon. After that, you can expect a beta release probably within a month or two. (don't hold me on it though ;)) -

It will definetely be scary, that's 90% of the mood in the mod. It's not for nothing that it's described as "Post-apocalyptic survival horror". -

Very cool! Will probably have to use this in singleplayer missions, simply amazing! A lot better than putting all the videos in the PBO's :) -

You don't read the thread very well do you ;) This mod is not zombie-specific, it could just as well happen that you get different kinds of monsters... Not specifcally saying they'll be vampires though :) -

Did he state it was an argument? Also, about your post: Good job, you just showed how ignorant some people in the ArmA community can be! This is true, that's our plan. Also, in our closed releases (and also possibly our public beta) we will not release any files related to the server-side and keep running the game on our own servers, mainly to figure out if there are any bugs on that side. -

Yes and no! I think I already answered this a couple pages back (probably around page 4-8), but I'll answer again and say we have no trouble with you making your own SP scenarios, though we might not provide easy tools to do this - like groups of infected or something like that. We could do that later, but that would be after release (and our own SP missions - which are by the way going to be in a campaign kind of way). We won't officially support any missions though (at least not for the time being), and we would also like for people not to share the mod itself, or any of it's assets, with the mission. Thanks! We want to release a beta pretty soon - can't give any good ETA, but you should be able to expect one to come within 2 months (rough estimate, I know), following a release within 2 or 3 months after beta. -

Thanks Jabba, you have the correct (imo) attitude :) I've noticed this happening lately on the BIS forums, people only looking at the negative points (in their eyes) and discussing pointless things. As lead developer, I can bring in the following arguments. In the end, it is your decision what you want to call them, we're just going by the name of infected. Some arguments: There will be more than just 'zombie' like creatures that still fall under the category of infected. The argument that our infected will behave like zombies has no factual ground whatsoever. The only thing you know about our infected, is how they look (and that even is not final) - you've only seen impression shots. In the end, as I said, it is your decision what you want to call them. We're simply giving you guidelines (if you will) into what they are, to provide you a backstory. We, in no way whatsoever, wanted to start a debate whether our infected creatures are zombies or not. This is also my last post about this topic (infected vs. zombies): I hope people stop having this pointless discussion. There are many other things to talk about than this, for example that players will be unable to affect their survival aspects and gear with scripting commands! (unlike mods such as DayZ, where these aspects are stored mostly client-side and sent to the server) How you may ask? Well that remains a secret for now, as I am not finished with it ;) -

I'm hosting the site. This is because I've been working on a server re-setup. Not that there's much to see on the website at all though ;) It's just a "Coming soon" page with our logo. However, the site should be up again within 2 days. -

A public beta will hopefully come soon after that though. -

The mod is meant for Altis, we just don't have the oppertunity yet to work with Altis, so we use Stratis until we can ;) -

We won't work on it simultaneously, because we don't have that amount of people working on the mod to do that. However, believe me, it won't take years ;) Trust us when we say it's different. We're not giving out too much information regarding the actual gameplay, solely because we want to keep that secret/a surprise for now, and we haven't refined the gameplay elements completely either, so we don't want to make promises now. The thing I can let out atm is that we'll be focusing a lot more on player interaction, rather than your usual scavaging and player hunting. There'll be a lot of interesting elements to both your own player related things, and also player vs player. -

You're making the wrong assumptions here - this is not DayZ, it will not feel like playing DayZ either. Yeah, it's something we are very excited for, as Craig mentioned. We'll do the multiplayer first though, make sure to get something out with which you can enjoy the mod, and then at least get some guys working on single player. It will have a proper, strong story line, and we might even go all-out with videos, animations etc. At that point we'll also make sure to introduce some elements of the story into multiplayer, to make going from single player to multi player make sense. -

Sure you are able to, but I'm saying that we might not cater towards that, at least in the beginning - of course it's still possible, since after all, it's an ArmA mod, so of course you can do it yourself - it's not difficult. We'll probably not really endorse any "third-party" mods/missions, to avoid any drama (based on previous drama with another mod - not naming any names, but I think you can figure it out yourself ;)). But we're definetely not against people making missions/mods. If you release a public mod/mission, derived from our work, please ask us personally for permission first (PM Hellborn or me). We'll be sure to reply :) -

It's gonna be scripted, but initializing loot spawn/creature spawn, will have seperate SQF files so I can create easy modules for the Editor to do things you ask for. We're not sure if we're open to making missions for the mod yet; at least, we're not going to focus on it too much in our early releases, since we want the game itself to be good first. So it might take a bit more time than the release date for the mod itself for the modules you ask for to be readily available, but since everything is in seperate files, it should be easy enough for yourself to do it, if you can't wait. -

Hey, I am the lead developer of the mod, I will try and answer some of your guys' questions. I'm in a bit of a rush though. No, it will not be a DayZ clone. 2017 will be a unique experience. I can't say too much though ;) Yup there is! Although we are taking some elements from that mod, it may not be directly related. And those models are indeed from our DayZ mod. In full release definetely, in earlier builds, maybe.
