  1. Old CC player from the Amiga days, I have been waiting/wishing for this remake for decades, and am VERY happy that it has actually happend. This game is gorgeous!! and failthfull to the source material I can see myself playing this for a long while! I have no problem with pathfinding, (the original had NO combat AI to speak of, just a simple autopilot feature) wasen't expecting/wanting RTS gameplay anyways so that's all bonus. and I like the FPS bits too... usually came along just when I needed a change of perspective.. enjoyed seeing all the great artwork from that angle. Couple things I miss and would like to see. 1. Telemetry Booster: back in the day, you could equip your Manta's with these babys and it would double their range! What made this cool was the fact that Islands had "airstrips" that you could land on and repair/refuel. Together these allowed you to split your forces. I could concentrate on one island. and say I get a warning or expect an attack on an neighboring island. I could send over a wing of long range mantas to help defend it! I remember catching all his Walruses just as they hit the beach once, a very satisfying gamer moment! 2. Island construction: again, in the old one all the islands were empty, no buildings/structures at all, just rasterized vector trees and hills. After deploying a construction pod, you would SEE the island come alive, structures slowing building themselves vector by vector, airstrips materializing, turrets being built. in GM all the structures are pre-built even on neutral islands, This has little effect on gameplay but it was one of the little "details" that I loved made the islands seem more "personal" 3. Carrier AI: not much different in GM, (it ran away a lot), but it seemed to use it's support equipment more... I remember fighting off his mantas/walruses as they attacked my carrier (delaying me while the enemy sped off to threaten a new island) I have yet to see the enemy carrier in GM use a walrus or manta... I haven't even seen one. 4. Island defence: Almost all my encounters with the enemy have been in passing (come out of timewarp, in a head on position) again, no enemy support craft.. little more then a drive by strafing run, Then launch a manta who chases him down and rockets his engines...........What I would like to see is him actually attacking an Island with units, trying to keep the island between my carrier an his... hurling units at each other.. until one is driven off... These types of encounters happend in the Amiga version. Bugs several times I have had Walruses and even a Manta once.. get "Stuck" underground... drives into the water... hugging the bottom get's stuck, abandoned.... Dropped a walrus from a hook once and had it fall through the island... and clip out the map... it was upside down... driving on the underside of the island... had to abandon.. (Hooks are a lot of fun BTW, droped a walrus onto the deck of the wounded enemy carrier and hammered his tower! or just dropping it from 300m into the ocean to see the cool splash!) The "false warnings" of island attacks don't bother me, it's just the enemy carrier "passing by" perhaps they could change it to "Enemy Sighted" and wait for the attack warning untill he's actually attacking. I'm almost finished the campaign (2 islands to go) the enemy carrier is in "stupid mode" now..very disappointing, he has 3 islands left. I kill him (run him off)... and concentrate on taking "Milestone" island... 3 mins later I get the "enemy carrier warning".. check the map, and sure enough he's steaming right toward me...he's a burning wreck (thankfully the AI dosen't cheat and just auto repair him to full)... but.... 1 quick strafe with the Gat and BOOM! (runs off again)..3 mins later... same island same place, same burning wreck.. same strafe.. same result... 3 mins later same island..... over and over. Really lame...you think after the 2nd try he might try for a different island... Overall I am loving the game tho thanks again for the remake and being faithful to the source
