  1. Right, the original game was and still is one of my favourite games of all times, but CCGM is a huge dissapointment. Walrus pathfinding AI: Ok, that horse has been kicked enough so I'll avoid it. Intertia of carrier weaponry: Ok, what do you suppose the plasma Quad weighs? A few tons? Being able to swing it end-to-end as fast as myu mouse will track is just plain wrong. I can ALMOST forgive it for the AAA-guns, I mean, I have seen a CWIS in action. External carrier camera: Same thing here, some intertia to the view would feel nice. Projectile dropoff: Let's just say I am surprised that the grenades actually ARE affected by gravity. Production Queue: It would be nice to be able to make "One manta, then three lasers, then a fuel pack, another manta and then another three fuel packs". Speedup on demand: Yesterday i watched a movie while waiting for fuelpacks to be manufactured. Unit posture: Weapons tight would be nice. Watching AI-piloted walruses chuck grenates at enemy mantas is entertaining... for three seconds. Or at least an option to filter targets "Ground installations only" for grenates would be nice. Unit posture: I am not sure if targeting accuracy even exists, but again, possibility to hold fire until a certain range would be nice. All in all.. THis could have been so great... but it is not.
  2. Well, if we look at this from it's own merits then. Then we must look at the pathfinding. There are plenty of games on the market today (and for quite a few years) that has amazing pathfinding in even randomized terrain. So, why CCGM cannot get it right despite the facts that the islands are, from what I can see, static is actually beyond me. Ok, we get a weather engine that may be one of the best looking so far. But it seem that not even a full on storm actually AFFECTS the mantas in flight? We get plot line inconsistencies. Rember the mission where you pilot a manta manually to defeat the scramblers "Because they cannot scramble a human pilot" (where it then gets blown up by an enemy manta?) Okay, I can forgive the fact that the pilot is not visible when the manta comes in for a landing... But can someone explain to me why you cannot pilot a manta manually "to defeat the scramblers" in any other circumstances? Aaannd the FPS elements... Oh look, there is an enemy over there.. Ill just fire a few rounds in his general direction.. and down he goes...
  3. Precisely so. ---------- Post added at 11:06 ---------- Previous post was at 11:03 ---------- Load out your walruses with offensive weaps as Grenade, Laser, Laser Grenade. Then roll towards a heavily fortified base. En route you encounter som enemy mantas. Now, I would expect the grenade equipend walruses to "just keep rolling" and NOT waste ammo on airborne Mantas. The probability of a kill is extremey low. The laser walruses on the other hand, now they should try to engage the mantas.
