Wow thank you guys so much, installed asr ai mod, TPWC AI suppression system and TPWLOS and gameplay is so much fun i ran into some AI in a open field going from 1st x too 2nd they where poping smoke i could hear bullets wiz past my head fire fight lasted a good 5 mins it was so much fun thank you everyone for helping made AI 10000x better thank you so much edit downloading coslx and group link 4 special fx edition then restarting the campaign its that good : P restarted the campaign and let me just say wow, anyone who is unhappy with the AI and feel its unrealistic download the mods mentioned before, i started "into the storm" and just planted the satchel blew it and was heading towards the meeting place forget its name and holy crap, i was getting pinned down by 3 enemy the first time bullets rushed past my head i ducked in real life lol the crack they made, after dealing with 2 of the 3 i realized we where getting flanked so moved back to cover my team and at the point knew i needed to get a move on otherwise more would come i just awoken a hornets nest after some intense fire fighting it seemed i was free and started heading towards the tree line and all of a sudden crack as more bullets went overhead we where pushed back to the town, i kept fighting until i knew it was all over as i heard the sound of a tank approaching i made a mad dash for the treeline in hopes of getting away so close about 10 meters out then i get caught with 2 or 3 bullets and die... this was the most fun i have had in a shooter in years i really mean that, this game is insane with mods thank for helping out

I was sort of complaining about the AI in Arma 2 in a different part of the forum yesterday and found out i should play harvest red in co and had a few mods recommended to me that would be great, but while i was discussing my problems with the games AI i suggested a idea and everyone seemed to agree that it is a good idea. Simply put, too make combat funner and more friendly AI well more friendly it would be great to add a pause function to the command menu, this would not degrade single player because you can pause anyway and more importantly in a real combat zone a commander is not sitting there opening up a command menu to tell his troops what to do he just says it, even though a more experienced player could do this pretty fast i feel it still to be useful i would actually like to see Bohemia introduce voice activated commanding, even for the most simple commands such as, take cover, open fire, stealth, etc etc all those one word commands but a pause menu would do the job fine : P just my 2 cents

i have only Arma 2 downloading oa almost done, just it can get frustrating when i pop my head out and bam I'm down or a teammate, i try to give the ai orders as much as possible but there are not many options i keep them on alert and direct them to take cover but they still get owned( i really feel the game should pause while you issues orders because in real combat a commander is not flicking through menus to call out a command, ill get faster with more experience i know but that's not the point or add voice commands), just combat is so fast and from my experiences a single fire fight can take hours not minutes i remember reading somewhere someone edited a config to reduce the AI's accuracy I am not looking to Rambo around i want a long fight where if i peek I'm not dead. i do change things up for example i was having trouble with the 3rd x in razor 2 where the enemy are i surveyed the area and noticed a small cliff/hill overlooking the camp i went around the long way staying way out of range for the enemy to see me (this is after legging it from the 2nd x, i didn't want to tell the world I'm coming in the heli and didn't know what type of resistance i would be met with) so i slipped up to this cliff and attacked got head shot reloaded after a fair few reloads managed to take down 2 and withdrew to find a better position. attacked from the side they didn't see me coming due to the cliff and after many reloads took out the rest. i guess what's getting to me is this is a mil sim and i want to play a mil sim and saving is not very sim like but I'm forced too because no matter what difficulty or tactic i use they kill me or my teammate its more luck then anything. i do realize that in war nothing is for certain but (BTW my aim is very good have been playing shooters for a long time) being recon a elite team we should be able to clear a camp of 6 or so enemy with ease, battle size needs to be a factor too i feel 5 men easy 20 men now that should be hard. i feel I'm not being rewarded for my tactics i don't know maybe I'm giving the AI too much credit and start playing it like a game and not real life. just looking for some help i really want too know if im doing something wrong or if anyone else had this problem and fixed it by changing tactics or files lol. i really do love this game but being taken out with .5 second of spotting someone is not realistic when my team who have been trained for years can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn.

hi really enjoying the game for the most part but i have a few problems 1. my team mates are more like preschoolers shooting pop guns if there not shooting there getting shot instantly, i just leave them well away from combat now even getting them into formation is almost impossible, bugging through walls standing in the middle of combat or falling 200 meters be hide me. the other problem is the enemy AI they head shot me instantly i was playing on expert but it was too hard i would lean around a corner and get shot instantly, even now after restarting the mission (razor 2) and putting them on novice they can see me coming from a mile away and one shot me 80% of the time or take me out of combat with a injury, i really love this game but cant do much in terms of tactics because i cant even tell my squad to get into stealth mode they just run around lagging behind like there high lol. I have been through all the training and watch videos but 90% of the time all the options are grayed out. can anyone suggest a mod or something to fix my team? is there someone i can change with a .config ? Im really trying to enjoy this game but its becoming impossible my or my teammates die within 2 seconds of a conflict

so i downloaded amra 2 and oa and was playing combined ops everything was going great then i got too razor 2 mission and i was on my way too the third red x when the game froze i figured i had been flogging it so i called it a night, the next day reloaded 30 seconds freeze, after numinous times reloading i restarted and it would freeze about a minute into it, i have the steam version so i verified cache 2 files missing, restarted and freeze. so i decided to upgrade my case because everything was running a bit hot went from 2 fans to 8 my specs are as follows i7 3770k 8 gb ram 570gtx 1 ssd 60gb (has os on there win 7 and arma 2+oa) 500gb media hard drive after getting the new case i decided to re-install steam and arma all over again and i did so but only installed arma 2 and was going to play that while i waited for aoe to download. everything was going great now it freezes but oddly enough it does not have to be ctrl alt delete to start again instead when i control alt delete it starts responding again and i can play this is not so great seeing i have to do it every 2 or 3 minutes. i have done everything i can think about and ill list below -tested pc to see if it was a problem noticed it was running hot so i got a whole new case now everything does not go over 45 degrees (new water cooler for cpu) -re installed Arma 2 -installed latest drivers -heard there was a problem with the 8800gt and freezing so even tho i have a 570 i down-clocked it about 100mhz on both core and memory didnt help -tried with hyper threading and without -installed phyx and directx - tried a number of different settings eg view distance, video memory on different settings - installed and had working the latest beta drivers - Tried launch options such as -winxp -before re-install uninstalled play withsix (launcher) im out of idea's and really want to finish harvest red all other missions as far as i can tell play normal (operation arrowhead got too 3rd mission without one hangup)

i would have to thank Bohemia for helping me find a huge problem with my computer turns out 2 of the 3 fans where broken on my case mostly the one cooling my radiator went out today a got a new case with 9 fans 2 on the radiator went from 72 degrees on my processor to 39 under load... no other game stressed my computer enough for me to notice. edit..... just started playing again went from most things low/normal 1300 view distance to everything high 2500 view, running smooth as silk. i have a i7 3770k 16g ram ssd and a 670 gtx after installing fans and going from a mid size to full tower its improved my performance through the roof even the video cards running better if anyone has a rig the can handle this game and experiencing problems download real-temp and have a look at what everything is doing in my case my computer was overheating under-load and performing like crap, and only arma could make it stress hard enough to notice a diffrence one hell of a game thanks again boh you probs saved my comp : P

So I got this game a few days ago after move up from OFP(DR not RR) and have been loving it the combat is great ,commands are great, well I'm In love with the entire game anyway i was playing razor 2 mission and decided to go after the 3 x's that are on your map to track down the leaders. got too the first one nothing there marines had cleared it out, second one nothing there either just a tent so i started to leg it too the 3rd (walked the whole way after hummer drop of a click out figured its a lot safer on foot then in a heli. Anyway i was about 1/2 from the 3rd red x (coming from the second) and my game freezes i Ctrl alt delete end-task restart and no matter what save i use it freezes about 2 or 3 mins into it, however if i restart no problem if i play another campaign no problem, I'm going to restart harvest red again and was wondering if i did anything wrong (i saved often and when my saves where full i would overwrite the 1 then 2 then 1 etc etc etc) really don't want it freezing again and want to finish the campaign before moving on to the others finish it as I'm enjoying the hell out of it. BTW was playing this in Arma 2 combined operations thanks

so i just got this game having played operation flashpoint dragon rising and one thing i wish i did was played it in expert instead of having enemy high lighted for me and making it too easy. so with Arma 2 i decided to do it from expert from the start, Im getting everything down pat but one problem Im finding is a teammate will call out enemy at say 293697 and i know how to find that by opening my map, but is there a faster way, is there a mod that gives your friendlies spots more detail? how do you guys handle this?

So I am downloading combined ops on steam right now and cant wait just finished flashpoint and decided to give Arma 2 a go, and i just have a few questions. i just got Arma 2 and operation arrowhead on steam and was wondering if these are kept up to date? also i found out some people have been having problems with the steam version if i have these same problems can i download Arma 2 and reuse my CD keys? is there a download for Arma 2 without buying it again? (i understand this might be best suited to steam forums) secondly i was hoping to play through the single player a few times before going online because i don't want to be one of those guys (you know who I'm talking about : P ), and all the reviews i have seen are complaining about AI. The last post on any forum i could find was early 2011 and that was saying it was unplayable, is it? have they fixed some of the AI issues? I don't mind the odd AI issues i got this game because its a Sim and its the best from what i heard, I also understand being as big as this game is with this much depth there are going to be issue's just wanted to know is this true or just some cod fan boys not able to make the transition from god solider to Sim solider venting over AI difficulty. ps hope i got the right area to post : P
