  1. As much as I like the idea of Xpadder, in this day and age it should not be our job to configure gamepad support on a game, the developers should be setting the standards for how their games are designed to be played with a KB&M or Gamepad. To answer andersson's question, full gamepad support means that complex gameplay functions like double tapping for that matter should be already programmed into the control scheme. While Arma 2 has the option to customize the control scheme it has no "useable" default control scheme.
  2. There always seems to be a group of people that prefer playing with the keyboard and mouse that troll this topic, bullying everyone to play the way they do like a bunch of Nazis. Honestly, if you like playing with the KB & M good for you! What are you complaining about the game already fully supports the KB & M. Its not like Bohemia is going to drop the KB & M all of a sudden in favor of gamepads. The point of this thread is for people "who use" gamepads to voice their opinions to get the developer to take notice, not waste our time trying to justify the existence of gamepads to a bunch of bigots who can't seem to accept that not everyone plays games like them. Like many others I started off playing 1st/3rd shooters on the PC with a KB & M and began adopting the gamepad as console shooters were becoming more popular. Now I play all games with gamepad unless its an RTS where KB and M are necessary, I find that I can play a game for several hours without having any strain in my neck or arm afterwards. Sure, the mouse gets more accuracy and faster twitch reactions and I will probably get whooped by KB & M players everytime in games like Call of Duty where reaction time is everything. Anyway it is becoming an industry standard these days for games to have full gamepad support and even though I like the fact that Arma has a lot of complex functions that you don't normally see in other shooters, that still should not limit the games accessibility from a streamlined control scheme where the basic gameplay mechanics are fully supported on the gamepad.
  3. I like the fact that Arma 2 has built in support for the Xbox 360 Controller however it doesn't seem like the developers put enough effort into fine tuning gameplay for gamepads. You definitely need to spend a good amount of time configuring the game's controls on the gamepad yet the customization option doesn't seem to work properly. I am well aware that Arma has too many functions to be crammed into a gamepad but it would be nice if Bohemia Interactive put more effort into streamlining Arma 3's core gameplay mechanics to be more easily accessible with gamepads. Anyway the point of this thread is to draw attention to the issue for those of us who enjoy playing Arma with gamepads and hopefully get some feedback from Bohemia Interactive. Thank You,
