  1. So I'm thinking about buying a custom gaming pc from cyberpowerpc.com What do you guys think of this website? I don't really want to build it myself though but I can't decide what website I should buy it from. What do you guys think? Is that a good website or is there a better one out there? Thanks.

    ArmA 3 System Requirements

Thanks for the information. Since the recommended requirements for high settings haven't been released yet, I think I'm going to play it safe. CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3770K 3.50 GHz 8MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1155 (All Venom OC Certified) HDD: 120 GB OCZ Agility 3 SATA-III 6.0Gb/s SSD - 525MB/s Read & 500MB/s Write (Single Drive) MEMORY: 16GB (4GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair Vengeance) MOTHERBOARD: [CrossFireX] ASUS P8Z77-V LX Intel Z77 Chipset DDR3 ATX Mainboard w/ IRST, Lucid Virtu MVP, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, 2x PCIe x16 (1 Gen3, 1 Gen2), 2x PCIe x1 & 3 PCI (Extreme OC Certified) SOUND: HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 7.1 AUDIO VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2GB 16X PCIe 3.0 Video Card (EVGA Superclocked Signature 2 Edition) Think this is too overkill for ARMA?

    ArmA 3 System Requirements

What exactly is DX10? Is it a video card? If so would this do? NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2GB 16X PCIe 3.0 Video Card (EVGA Superclocked Signature 2 Edition) I'm a bit new to computers so if anybody can answer this question it would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Title says it all. Gaming on a computer is completely new to me. I'm looking for some forward answers/input, and I'm looking for some opinions from the community. It would be safe to say that I do not know what I'm doing, and that unfortunately, I am not the smartest person when it comes to these kinds of things. But enough about me and onto the topic at hand. Recently, I have been researching a bit computers (gaming computers to be exact if there is a difference.) I have been trying to find the best affordable option (according to my budget) to buy a PC that will be enough to run ARMA II and ARMA III in the future with little to no hassle. I have several models that appear to me capable of accomplishing the said goal. But as stated before I am new to these kind of things, and for all I know I could be making a mistake. Which is why I am asking for some friendly input and/or suggestions. First off, here is my main question. I am interested in buying a pre-built PC, the specifications of the PC are listed below. My question is: What would you think of this rig? Would it be capable of handling such games of ARMA II and III without any problems? Is there something that could be changed that would be more preferred to run these games instead of what I have in mind? CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3770K 3.50 GHz 8MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1155 (All Venom OC Certified) HDD: 120 GB OCZ Agility 3 SATA-III 6.0Gb/s SSD - 525MB/s Read & 500MB/s Write (Single Drive) MEMORY: 16GB (4GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair or Major Brand) MOTHERBOARD: [CrossFireX] ASUS P8Z77-V LX Intel Z77 Chipset DDR3 ATX Mainboard w/ IRST, Lucid Virtu MVP, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, 2x PCIe x16 (1 Gen3, 1 Gen2), 2x PCIe x1 & 3 PCI (Extreme OC Certified) SOUND: HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 7.1 AUDIO VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2GB 16X PCIe 3.0 Video Card (EVGA Superclocked Signature 2 Edition [+13]) The grand total, including the external gear. (towers, fans, monitor, other misc etc) is roughly around $2400.00 Now below I have several other questions. -If I dedicate my PC to ARMA and ARMA only, would it have a positive outcome on performance? Or will it barely make a difference? -Do you think I could run ARMA games on its highest, if not medium settings without much hassle? -What could I expect the FPS to be on ARMA game -Is there anything you could potentially see wrong, or unnecessary with the rig above for what I am trying to accomplish? (An ARMA II/ARMA III Dedicated Rig) Any other suggestions, comments, input etc is always welcome. Hopefully I can learn more than I already know so far from this post from the community. All help is greatly appreciated. -Meyer
  5. So I've been looking around and am planning to buy my first computer dedicated to gaming. (ARMA lol) It would be a first for me in general as I never really had a decent computer. Anyways I'm looking for input on what anybody thinks of this setup. Think it would be able to run ARMA 2 and possibly 3 in the future on high settings with a decent FPS? I plan on buying this from CyberPowerPC Case: * Azza Genesis 9000 Full Tower Gaming Case w/ 2 x 230mm fans, 4x Easy Swap HDD, Dual Power Supply Support, & front USB 3.0 Port (Black Color) Extra Case Fan Upgrade: Maximum 120MM Case Cooling Fans for your selected case CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3820 Quad-Core 3.60 GHz 10MB Intel Smart Cache LGA2011 (All Venom OC Certified) Performance Tuning Protection Plan by Intel: Intel® Core™ i7-3820 Performance Tuning Protection Plan by Intel Venom Boost Fast And Efficient Factory Overclocking: Extreme OC (Extreme Overclock 20% or more) Cooling Fan: Asetek 510LC Liquid Cooling System 120MM Radiator & Fan (Enhanced Cooling Performance + Extreme Silent at 20dBA) (Single Standard 120MM Fan) Coolant for Cyberpower Xtreme Hydro Water Cooling Kits: Standard Coolant Motherboard: (4-Way SLI Support) GIGABYTE X79-UP4 Intel X79 Chipset Quad Channel DDR3 ATX Mainboard w/ 3D UEFI Bios, Ultra Durable 5, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, USB3.0, SATA-III RAID, 4 Gen3 PCIe x16, 2 PCIe x1 & 1 PCI Memory: 16GB (4GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz Quad Channel Memory (Corsair or Major Brand) Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 2GB 16X PCIe 3.0 Video Card (Major Brand Powered by NVIDIA) Power Supply Upgrade: 1,000 Watts - Standard Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready Hard Drive: 2TB (2TBx1) SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Drive) Optical Drive: LG 12X Internal Blu-ray Drive & DVDRW, 3D Playback Combo Drive (BLACK COLOR) Sound: HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 7.1 AUDIO What do you guys think of this rig? Building/Buying a PC for ARMA III

Greetings from your average console gamer. For awhile I have always wanted to experience ARMA. I've decided that I'm going to either buy, or build a gaming PC dedicated to ARMA. (Since I don't really plan on using it for much else.) The only problem is, I'm not the smartest when it comes to all this technical and computer stuff etc. Long story short: I want to either buy or build a gaming PC. Money is not a problem, wondering if I can get some help from the community. Right now all I have is a laptop so I would appreciate if anybody can guide me in the right direction. Thanks, -Meyer
