Oh shucks you totally owned me! The beta patch is going to be required to play the new dayz update. Anyway, yes. I won't be around here, but I will still play DayZ if this change reverts to a more sane setting. Cya. -

Well I'm sure we've covered most of it now with examples. So I'll just end with: The night is too damn dark, and I don't like it (I have doubts that it'll revert back to the old settings, so I guess I'm done with arma and dayz :) Been fun. -

It wasn't this bad before the patch, though. -

The issue we're discussing is the way tone mapping is affecting the daytime. At least that's what I've been discussing. See post #40 and #44 Another example of our "ingame pupils" going apenuts: http://imgur.com/a/5SVTB -

What is CIT? Anyway: Issue: The transitions from dark to light during daytime is weird. Example: http://imgur.com/a/sX5MB Sure indoor scenery gets darker when you're out in the light, but right now everything gets darker when you're in the light - even the areas that are lit by the sun. Only the interior should be darkening up, not the floor atop the staircase aswell. The light on the wall in the second pic is the strength of light that should be applied to the top floor of this tower, no? Value-tweaked example: http://imgur.com/a/GUCmZ Very rough value tinkering in PS, but I hope it illustrates my point decently. -

This is taken even earlier than that. 'Inconsistent' describes it pretty well: http://imgur.com/a/GtYzu -

Hi! With this new update DayZ is suffering greatly from just being pitch black, no matter what brightness and gamma is set to. I don't know how widespread NVG's and town lighting is in vanilla Arma 2, but there's basically none of that artificial stuff going on in DayZ. Also the extreme contrast in light levels between looking away from and towards the setting sun is a bit unsettling. Is there any way to reconfigure this lighting for myself? Link to my thread with screenshots: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=10477 To clarify: I don't mind the night being dark, but maybe someone who has been outside during a moonlit night should take a look at these lighting settings. Sorry for this crass comment, but I'm just confused and slightly emotional about this issue :)
