Got email but no steam key
Spartan3a59 replied to Mobiuspc's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - P&C BETA
I did the upgrade a few days after getting the original supporters package, it does say/show me as a upgraded supporters package but no steam key. also when switching to the USA mirrors to download the game from BI(might as well try to get it) it seems to hang for awhile, occasionally doing a good speed/rate, otherwise its a 30+hr download at 30Kb/s from the Europe mirrors. the betas from the USA mirrors got upto and better than my 1mbps(usual peak, maybe 1.5-2mbps) i get with steam... I am expecting that my steam version will be downloaded and installed well before the sprocket download is finished, if i wait it out. -

knowing steam it is the 27th, at about 11pm/23:00(ish, there is a delay up to 15 min some times, at least for me) local time the game will "unlock" downloading the last few files needed to play and decripting the files that are already downloaded. if there is an early steam download/preload. And if it isnt a preload game it just means that with the average internet connection you can start downloading an hour or so before launch, so you can start playing soon after midnight if you have a slow download. my interent is faster than the steam downloader/installer gives(as a test), but with every/any game i see X size will take Y hour/min at 512kbps, since i average at least 1mbps its usually a fraction of the time. hope this helps explain why steam does that "day early" thing on the store page -
Does the Final Game from Bohemia Store install on Steam?
Spartan3a59 replied to tolek0073's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - P&C BETA
In another thread it was said that keys would be sent out a few days before the release, and the release day on steam store/BIstore both say the 28th. Just looking for a dev post or something saying when to expect the email/update on the BIstore page, at least a notice of what to look for when they send it incase it somehow gets flagged as spam by email. -
Some questions for clarification
Spartan3a59 replied to Warchamp84's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - GENERAL
Thanks for the response, looking forward to the full game. Also, is there any chance of having some more naval gear for walruses? My suggestion for an armor equip and/or naval weapons(example: you need mk2 armor for some of the guns) for supporting carrier vs carrier combat might make the game more interesting if you play till enemy carrier is destroyed. Having some walruses with torpedoes could really help an encounter if you deploy them early for support or mid battle to prevent the enemy from retreating, letting you finish them off with the main guns. -

I believe that this can be answered here, as I haven't found this elsewhere yet. I purchased the play and contribute standard edition, later upgraded to the edition that includes a steam edition/key when available. So the question is, when will the steam key/edition be made available in the BI store or emailed(I'm guessing) to those who bought that version of the play and contribute? Just like having all my games in 1 location on the interwebs. Also, the suggestion for other units under your control might not be a bad idea. Consider that since your carrier is always at sea, have a naval unit that goes in the walrus dock/slot of the carrier, give it better range/ammo cap to support carrier vs carrier combat. Or to have an armor "upgrade" for walruses that allows for that type of use, maybe torpedo launchers or other naval vs naval weapons in those instances. Above all keep up the good work. -
Bug report 6/10/2012
Spartan3a59 replied to Domore's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - P&C BETA
yea, ive been seeing similar things happen in game. difference with your 2nd point, rubberbanding happens to the carriers occasionally, mine and the AI. So when releasing my amphibs well away from my carrier and having them lead my assault on a wounded enemy carrier, maybe because i used the map to have my carrier flank/cover their charge, the ship will hit tripple speed and end up destroying my units since it doesn't stop.. actually got a win first time that happened. my ship was launched into the enemy carrier, dropped to abt 60%hull/armor damage and the plasma/front cannon was destroyed as well, but it was the critical damage needed to sink their battleship... sorry carrier. I've also had similar AI issues like what you stated for 3a+3b, also want to add that on some beachheads the walruses/amphibs get stuck on nothing/rocks that i don't see, and they occasionally cant path around rocks and debris from enemy units. only difference to point #4, sometimes after traveling to the stockpile island it seems to get unstuck on the trip there. if not, ive noticed that there is a time delay before it fixes its pathing issue in finding/docking with you, as long as it can "see" a direct path to you if it is stuck in non auto-navigational waters for you, worst case ive seen it stuck on land(as far as the map shows). The time seems to be the trip from the islands that are furthest apart, not much more that as far as timing it. if ive gotten close enough to receive the delivery there is then between a 20-30 sec delay or that same time delay(of at least 1 min-3) i just mentioned before it just appears just off of the port of the stockpile island. still, enjoying it so far.
