Hey all,
Bought CO (retail) to play dayz, but plagued by a weird issue I cannot find described anywhere. Basically anywhere there is a dark area or shadow it is translated by the engine as completely black. So for instance, at the beginning of arma in the briefing room the ceiling is a black square as well as anywhere it would be vaguely dark. At the beginning of OA if i look around the car its basically just 4 guys with guns sitting in a black void. Anywhere there is a shadow or dark patch on clothing or characters its completely black. Driving me nuts. During daytime everything is fine! The game plays quite well. But nighttime is ridiculous, theres no inbetween its just pitch black and shades of grey.
Ive tried reinstalling, rolling back drivers to 10.4, reinstalling latest drivers, messing with every setting possible, jamming up gamma, post processing on high etc, changing monitor settings, updating directx etc. Nothing makes a difference. Do not have a problem on any other games, firefall beta for instance has a lot of night action, no problems whatsoever, wwiiol, wow etc - no graphical issues so im sure its the game.
My spec is Win 7, 4870 1GB (ive read the thread on issues with this gen of card but none of the issues there sound anything like this), E6850 3ghz, 8GB Ram etc. im well within min spec.
Im sure it must be something simple im overlooking, any elp appreciated, can make a vid when i get home if thats any help.
