I've run ACE before with higher frames than this.

Not really sure where to post this so here goes. I can't get over 25fps with the ACE mod enabled, even on the lowest settings at 1280x1024; even though I can run vanilla ArmA with 40+ at the high setting. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? I've played ACE before and I've never suffered such a hard hit on performance. Then again, the last time I tried to play ACE I was using my Nvidia 9600GT 512MB, whereas I'm now using a 7850 2GB OC@ 975MHz. I do have an old Q6600 running at 2.9GHz which I know won't be helping but, like I said, I can set vanilla to the high preset and still get 40+ fps avg.

Doesn't work for me. I have a Steam OA but a hard copy of ArmA 2 and when I try use Six Launcher to join a server, it tells me I'm not allowed to play/edit the mission because.... I have no idea why, it leaves too quickly. Similar issues would happen with Six Updater, where I'd be missing files or... something. The game seems to be LOOKING for ways to stop people (or maybe just me) playing ACE. Also, when playing singleplayer scenarios or editor mode, it tells me I'm missing some "roof" file. Never had that before using Six Launcher. Why is using mods on this game so complicated? Also, finding ACE servers using the games default browser is hell. I can see a million DayZ modded servers but only a handful of populated ACE servers, all of which boot me out before I can reach the squad selection screen. If I had to remove and then reinstall ArmA 2 and OA, would someone have an idiot-proof way of setting up the ACE mod available to share? I've got it to work a few times and I've loved it and found myself playing until the early hours of the morning when everyone else had left, so I'd love to get this going again.

Playing ACE for the first time since reinstalling ArmA 2 vanilla, I found that I had this weird black box that would display some sort of coordinates or something. I'm not sure whether it's reading out where I'm pointing or if it's the destination of some AI. Anyway, this is what it looks like... http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/8757/arma2oa2012041103370672.jpg My Arma 2 vanilla is a hard copy and my OA is a Steam copy. I was playing the ACE singleplayer scenario titled Martyrdom or something iirc. What is this and how do I move/ get rid of it?

Buying OA off steam while already having A2

I have this exact same issue with a hard copy of vanilla Arma 2 and a Steam copy of OA. How do you do this when it's a Steam game? If I move the files out of the steam/steamapps/common directory, Steam won't be able to run the game, so would I install vanilla ArmA2 into the OA directory?
